My life long dream is to make a game thread and Im excited to make this one.

We have Josh Beckett pitching agaist Wade Davis, Beckett is coming off a win vs the Royals.

Red Sox will win it. Trust me, but the offense might have to score 2 runs, I Know that is hard.

Any word on Cameron's condition. I can't say that I am surprised that a 37 year old outfielder would break down. He's no longer an everyday player. I saw him it a gapper in ST that should have been an easy triple. As he approached second base, it looked like he was trying to kick it into a different gear but there was nothing there. He looked like his legs just didn't respond. He made the turn and stopped. He looked every bit of 37. Although, he can still go 2 bases at a pretty good clip. He's are only legit RH outfielder, which is pathetic. Without him, if he is out for an extended period, we will be very vulnerable to lefty pitching.

Kidney stone? What do these ballplayers do to themselves that they're getting all these bizaare ailments before they even hit 40. It really bugs me, baseball players are in worse shape than many in the general public. I have a 49 year old friend that's still highly competitive in Marathons. I have another friend, early 40's, that just took up mountain climbing and is kicking ass - and we think 37 is too old to run 3 bases all out and he has kidney stones? WTF!

What does being on poor shape have to do with kidney stones? I had one 9 years ago when I was 35 and not in poor shape. I have a lot of friends male and female who have had them at various ages who were not in poor shape.

At any rate....

Cameron does not have appendicitis

According to a team source, appendicitis has been ruled out for center fielder Mike Cameron, who missed yesterday's game in Minnesota because of abdominal pain.

Cameron was examined at a Minnesota hospital yesterday. He will be seen by Red Sox team doctors this morning

This just in: Cameron has caught the incurable Lazy-ass-itis from Baldelli, which will limit him to two games per week - 7 innings per game.

If they do place Cameron on the DL, hopefully its Reddick thats called up

Mike Cameron will return to Boston on Friday with a possible kidney stone.

Cameron was originally scratched from Thursday's lineup with a lower abdominal strain. Appendicitis has been ruled out, so the club is trying to diagnose the cause of the pain. It's very possible that he could be headed to the disabled list. With a short-handed outfield, look for the club to call up Josh Reddick or Darnell McDonald.

It's usually an indication something isn't working well.

I had gall stones - because I had a crap diet.

Also, VA.. it's also mentioned that he's just in lousy shape.

I didn't mean to piss anyone off because I mention kidney stones as part of the problem. Eliminate the kidney stones and then take in the rest of the post.

Not pissed at all. Just didn't get the connection between kidney stones and poor shape. Thanks for the clarification.

I don't get this. Tek has been a MUCH better hitter facing LHP from the right side of the plate, why put him in against a RHP? What a crappy lineup. Francona should have waited to put Tek in against a LHP and kept Vmart as DH.

For tonight, I would have preferred Vmart behind the plate with maybe even having Lowell as the DH. I also hope they decide to call up Reddick if Ellbury and Cameron need to miss more games.

Tek is in because Beckett is pitching.
