Lincecum is an interesting case. His track record is short but dominant. If on the open market I believe the bidding war amongst numerous teams would drive his price north of 20M per year. Not having the advantage of a bidding war I think a 4 year 55M deal would be a nice security blanket to buy out his remaining team controlled years(I believe it's 4, I could be wrong). But I can also see Lincecum going year to year to maximize his potential. And with another solid season that will be 15M at least next season.
