Dojji, we all get a little punchy right about now. We get the tease of spring training yet still get to live in the winter weather (most of us). By April, this site will be lively as usual. Plus, having multiple uber-defensive posters who take anything said by Yankee fans as a personal affront is getting kinda old. The season will bear itself out soon and the good posters will come back, hopefully

Whether or not other posters are homers is not my problem. However, most of the Red Sox fans here acknowledge the fact that the Yankees are a superior team (on paper) and don't try to turn every little bad thing the Yankees may have into a forecast of the doom of the organization.

There are knowledgeable Yankee fans on the board (Yankees228) who respect the Red Sox organization as much as they demand respect for the Yankee organization.

Yes, it is a Red Sox discussion board. There are many such sites. What distinguishes Talksox from others is an individual's ability (privilege) to say what is on their mind. That includes Yankee fans. Of all types.

 

One of the things one can gain from the aging process is an understanding that people are different and have different views from your own.

 

Jacko has conservative political views. He's a Yankees fan. Does that make him different from me? Why, yes. But I listen to what he says because he is well educated and expresses himself well. And I can have an opportunity to learn from that. As a human being, I have the upper hand on the rest of the animal kingdom. I can differentiate. I choose to exercise that privilege.
