New Era Pinstripe Bowl offiially announced

A press conference was held this morning at Yankee Stadium to officially announce the agreement between the Big East, Big 12, the Yankees, ESPN, and New Era to hold the first bowl game at the new Yankee Stadium on December 30th. An initial agreement was announced a while ago, as well as agreements to host several other college football games (including Army and Notre Dame on November 20th), but an official announcement was pending a sponsor and an official name. Now that New Era has signed on and ESPN has agreed to televise the game, the 4-year agreement has been inked for the 3rd seed in the Big East and the 6th seed in the Big 12 to square off at the big ballpark in the Bronx.

However, the objective for those involved is to make money. If that happens, then there is some meaning.

I like having a bunch of bowl games. More games to watch.

It may be another meaningless bowl game, but I think it's pretty cool. I never had the chance to see football, or any other sport for that matter, at the old stadium. So with the boxing match in June and the college football games scheduled to be played at the Stadium, I'm looking forward to it.

I think that it is pretty cool. I mean Boston had Hockey and Concerts. I think it would be cool to see a football game at Fenway or NYY Stadium. it would be cool.

Like the idea for the game, but Pinstripe Bowl is such a lame name. I guess it beats "Galleryfurniture.com Bowl", but it's still pretty terrible.
