We've already dealt with them with Welker and Brady (knock on wood..........).

I hate to say it but I really think the Jets are the team to beat. Unless the Pats young guys on defense (Spikes, McCourty, Wilhite, Wheatley, McGowan, Meriweather, Brace, Guyton, etc, I'm looking directly at you) step up to another level, we're going to have a hard time stopping teams and we're going to have to rely on the offense again which hasn't worked so well the last few years. The biggest reason the loss of Warren hurts though, is his leadership and experience. The most experienced starter now on the defensive side of the ball is Wilfork (unless I'm missing something? Not counting Bodden, talking as a Patriot), which means A LOT of the leadership burden is going to be on Mayo and Meriweather, let's hope we'll be talking about those Mayo, Meriweather, and McCourty like we were of McGinest, Milloy, and Law.

Word is Welker is on the field in full uniform warming up with the team.

From someone who has had 2 ACL surgeries and recovering from the second one currently, I don't care how much better his care is than mine, to get back on the field and play in an NFL Football game, regardless of if it's preseason or not, is a f***ing miracle. This guy is an inspiration to me, I might get all teary-eyed if he sees the field tonight.

Neither do I, I didn't want him anywhere near a preseason game. But signs are pointing to him maybe playing tonight. I thought it was worthy news to throw into the fire.

It's pretty big news if he plays.

I was hoping they would keep him out of every preseason game. It's an unnecessary risk for a guy who is coming off a major knee injury. I have not even heard that he was a lock for week 1 as of right now so if he plays I would assume he is.

@YH213 - I hope the knee is feeling better.

What would be gained by playing Wes tonight? Hold him out. He know how to play. Maybe PS game #4 would be enough to regain his "game speed".

I figured if he were going to play in one of the four games it would be game three. That's when the starters log most of their snaps' date=' correct?[/quote']

Yeah, you're right.

My point is I don't think he needs much action to be ready. Why risk it?

I'm just happy that he's back.

Spikes definitely didn't look slow. Not sure if you watched the game last Thursday, but he was pretty much involved in every run play, and was more often than not the first one to react off the snap.

Yeah against alanta' date=' he has fast reactions but a play or two turner beat him around the corner. He defintally is a ball hawk[/quote']

turner is a pretty fast rb tho

From what I can see, it appears that Yeszir has opened up new member registration at Talkpats.

I encourage any football fan and of course, Pats fans, to sign up.

Things have been kind of slow over there. But that can change if you contribute! Talkpats has alot of potential. With some work, it can become one of the top three Pats boards. Everyone reading this post has the ability to contribute to the evolution and growth of the site.

I've started a game thread for the game tonight.

I hope to see you there!

Now S Brandon McGowan is on IR with a cheast injury. Pats release Derrick Burgess, and there's a chance that Jarvis Green is coming back to the pats

-Pierre Woods and Eric Alexander released as well.

-Interesting to note that Kaczur suspected of being done for the year with a back injury, wasn't placed on IR and is on the 53man roster
