Yes true. Teixeira who hit like s*** so far in this series until last night. Both LA(Dodgers and Angels) lineups are packed with great threats and can also play with speed. Furcal vs. Figgins. the Angels do have more speed but the Dodgers still have a lot of running threats.

The Angels regularly trot out Kendry Morales as their 6th hitter.

Enough said.

Loney is the Dodger 6 hitter but not always. Sorry i had to edit. i was looking at the the box score for their last game. he is not always their six though. Anyway the games in WS will be great games. Lee and CC will guarantee a great game(that is if they pitch against each other.

Kendry Morales OPS: .924.

James Loney OPS: .756.

Not even close.

Okay still loney is no slouch at the plate. I think i overlooked morales because during the regular season he is over shadowed by Hunter and Guerrero. Its kinda like the Sox having Drew being a low lineup hitter.

Morales clubbed 34 HR's.

He was overshadowed by no one, sir.

I thought he was overshadowed not everyone. I made a mistake.

Admit Morales is awesome and all your sins shall be forgiven.

If it's Yankees-Phillies, I think it's very unlikely you're going to see Lee vs. Sabathia, unless it goes 7.

Yes but the main argument was whether or not Sabathia and Lee stack up against each other as respective aces.

he is damn good but when you think about the Angels is Morales one of the first players you think of. Just like when you think about the Red Sox you don't immediately think of Drew.

I would take CC, just because Lee really was up and down in the second half, while CC was extremely consistent. It is close though.

Who wouldn't take CC, all things being equal? Dude is a monster on the mound.

That said, CC at $20m + or C. Lee at considerably less isn't close either. Lee is the much, much better value.

Call me crazy, but the discussion seems to be about who you take in a potential postseason matchup in the next few weeks, so I'm not sure how relevant their $$/production value is to the conversation.

Of course, but when Lee hits free agency and someone signs him for very nearly as much the math will change.

I keep saying i think they're about evenly matched.

When on, both are extremely dominant.

CC is a better pitcher then Lee, not by a mile but slightly better yes. When comparing there postseason ERA's you have to remember the AL and NL aren't on a equal field. CC faced a better team in the Angels then Lee did in the Dodgers.

Ether way they'll be going face to face in Game 1, 4, and 7.

Can you please provide some insight as to how, exactly, Sabathia is "better than" Lee?

I think that he's saying that because the NL is weaker than the AL, or something like that :dunno:

The AL, where Lee won the Cy last year and pitched 152 innings of 3.19 ERA, 1.3 WHIP ball this year?

I see.

Hmm. Interesting.

My gut reaction was that it was obvious Sabathia was the better pitcher. His reputation gives him the apparent advantage.

But then I actually checked the numbers.

Did you know Lee beats Sabathia in ERA+ this year?

Sabathia got 133 ERA+ in New York, Lee got 138 between Cleveland and Philidelphia -- with his NL sample bringing the average DOWN

Strikeouts and innings pitched are both close enough to even not to be a big deal, and no one calculates value based on wins anymore. So what we have is effectively a tie with a slight advantage to Lee

Kudos on a non-smug, well thought out post.

Eh, the Angels were a pretty good squad, but as far as CC vs. Lee, we agree, I personally think Lee is just as good, as Sabathia, and I don't think there's any way you call CC better, by any means. In Lee's time in the AL, in fact, he had a better ERA than CC, so yeah, not exactly inferior stuff
