Why is everyone sleeping on the Dodgers? I picked the Cards to win that series because I thought their 1/2 of Carpenter and Wainright would prevail in that series, not because the Dodgers don't rate. The Dodgers are legit.

I agree. The Dodgers have an excellent lineup and a legitimate closer. However, I do question what guys like Randy Wolf and Vincente Padilla will be able to do against a deep AL lineup.

Not really sure I agree with a 3-2 change there.

EDIT: I liked Joe Simpson's analysis. It looked like a back door slider. No, actually it was fastball. Nope, it was a change up.

That's a huge hit and an awful job of pitch selection. You cannot continue to go away away away to hitters as good as Utley and Howard. I know they're scared of an HR, but you're going to get beat if you keep going to the same spot.

Kuroda is likely to replace Padilla for the NLCS. Then the rotation is Kershaw, Wolf, Kuroda, Billingsley. Not too shabby.

Hmm, OK. I kind of find it hard to believe that they would pull Padilla after how well he pitched in game three, unless Joe has a significant amount of trust in Kuroda. Either way, you're right, it's pretty good.

Papelbon was much worse. I know he didn't put those guys on, but a guy he was facing drove in two in the 8th and he only got out of the inning with a pickoff. He got two batters out and 5 runs scored when he was on the mound.

The reason why I overlook the Dodgers is because their rotation is not a good playoff rotation vs a good lineup. Kershaw, while a dominant pitcher, runs up a ton of pitches. And against NY or LAA, he'll reach 100 pitches after 5 innings. Wolf is a NL pitcher who also works big pitch counts. We absolutely drill Padilla. And Billingsley is just like Kershaw, except he is on a cold streak. The only team I am truly concerned about facing out of the NL is Philly. Lee, Hamels, and Happ will give our lineup problems in both Philly and NY. And that lineup can hit anyone.

I'm kinda hoping it gets to Helton with the game on the line and he does something big.

EDIT: There we go. The season is in the hands of Mr. Rockies himself.

EDIT2: And he singles. He's obviously not a true cleanup hitter.
