How will you feel about him if he asks out of one of the ALDS games due to some random soreness?

Because he's done that before...

Hey, JD Drew is a f***in' pussy, and he bows out of games on a near daily basis, so why the f*** wouldn't he do it in the playoffs? /endsarcasm

Posted
Has it happened?

He's played 2 postseasons before this one and never "bowed out" for any reason.

If we see him out of a game it'll be because of Tito's silly platoon crap.

Stop the speculation.

It's always a possibility with him. In past seasons we had other OFers who could step in if he bowed out, so it wasn't a huge issue., although last season he did sit Drew in a game and Crisp and Ellsbury played. What kind of crazy platoon was that? Ellsbury played RF and he is a lefty like Drew. I have to think Drew's Va-jay-jay acted up. If he opts out and we have to watch Anderson or Gaithright, would that bother you?

You're speculating.

And it won't bother because it's not gonna happen.

And if it happens because of a legitimate injury, it wouldn't bother me either, Clint.

Straws:

Stop grasping at them.

A JD Drew vagina joke! Oh!

He had been labeled the leagues biggest underachiever by S/I's 380 interviews with MLB players, not me and the other sox fans but MLBs own players.

that tag has been removed and he has dropped down to the 4th biggest underachiever.

Tommy Paradis boy, Willie Mo Pena now holds that crown.

1. Wily Mo Pena

2. Daniel Cabrera, Triple-A

3. Elijah Dukes, Nationals

4. J.D. Drew, Red Sox

5. Mike MacDougal, P, Nationals

Is there a more painful indictment than being disrespected by the men who play the game with you?

Forget about the #s for a moment.

1st- Yes, I was very very wrong about Wily Mo Pena. But you have to admit, he could hit the ball really really far.

2nd- Would anyone like to address J.D. Drew as viewed by his peers, other than calling the magazine who wrote the article stupid?

How is this relevant towards a discussion of his production?

JD wasent injured that game, get your facts straight

it was our wonderfull manager that decided to sit Drew for a lefty as usual, like he's done numerous time this year. and dont be shocked if he does it again this year

Before I took a poll like that seriously , I'd want to know who "his peers" are. Which players were polled and how were they selected.

If other players feel that way about Drew's production, then I have no compunction with calling them wrong. They're paid to hit a ball or throw one. Not to analyze the sport or other players.

JD Drew in Wily Mo Pena territory is absofrigginlutely laughable.

Grasping at what straws? I don't know what you are talking about. I like J.D. and I love when he is in the lineup. I have no anti-JD agenda. We have already discussed how we would feel if Tito platoons Anderson with JD... right? We agreed that I would pay for your plane ticket and sneak you into the country to prevent that. I love Tito. He pisses me off at times, but he is at the top of my list of favorite managers. Whether he platoons JD in the ALDS is hypothetical, yet we both have an opinion about that. There is the possibility (yes hypothetical) that JD asks out for some soreness, not necessarily an injury. I'm just asking how you would feel about that. What's the BFD? You are a smart guy, so I know the question is not too difficult for you. Doji is another story. Are we not allowed to even speculate about JD on this forum? He did ask out of a big game once this season where francona told him that he had to stay in and then he it a HR, so it's not like he's never done it before.

At least try not to be unbelievably cliche about it. That's a cardinal rule regarding any joke at all.

Playoffs and regular season.

There is a WORLD of difference between the two.

It's not off limits, but you couldn't come up with anything better than "he has a vagina"? That's so easy.

How would you feel about him if he hit one of the most important home runs in Red Sox playoff history???

Oh wait........

which of the three are you referring to?

(i know which one im making a point though)

So, I am curious. Is it that you don't want to even think about how you will feel about because it would be too upsetting. Not quite sure why you would speculate about Francona platooning but not about this? :dunno:

Because the Francona platooning has actually happened?

Oh noez!

Logic!

...and J.D. has never asked out of a big game? Okay, so you don't want to think about him asking out of the playoffs. We both hope that he never does, and I don't think he ever would, but I know how I would feel about it if he did. Perhaps you are not as in touch with your emotions as I am.

What game did Drew ask out of? What inning did it happen?
Read the papers. Do your own research. Francona talked about it in his press conference after the specific game. He told him that he had to stay in.

Maybe you are. I wasn't building an anti-JD case or anything, and I wasn't going to use your answer as an"Ah Ha" or "Gotcha". I was just wondering how you would feel about it from one frequent poster to another who have had lots of discussions. So, I'm not quite sure why the question elicits hostility from you. I know it would make my head explode if he asks out of one of these games. Just forget it. I never know what is going to anger you.

And what exactly in this discussion have i said that would make you think i'm angry?

I'm just sayin' it's speculation because it is.

It's never happened, so why would it happen now?

Okay. Glad that you are not angry.

Again, i just think we shouldn't doubt the guy's desire to play in the postseason, since he has never before asked to sit out a postseason game.

The regular season criticism is warranted, but the playoffs are a whole other beast.

You made the claim. You back it up.
