You never wanna see someone get hurt, especially a pitcher taking a liner off the bat (Bryce Florie anybody?)....but I like our chances in the postseason a whole lot more now that Lester may be out. I wish him a full recovery, just not a speedy one ;)

BOS: J. Lester (14-7, 3.33) vs. NYY: J. Chamberlain (8-6, 4.72)

Old Yankee luck has returned.

How many SBs off Tek? They ain't goin' nowhere in the playoffs--Lester or no--if they get stolen blind like that.Tek is a dead horse.

Lester's injury is devastating and its to a crucial part of a pitcher's body. He'll be scared to death next time he goes out to the mound and lose all of his effectiveness. This also stands a good chance of ruining his career for the forseeable future. [Whatever kind of knee injury this turns out to be]'s effects cannot be underestimated.

I wonder when Sager will realize this is 2009 and his clothes are a bit dated.

I wonder how much he gets paid for wearing those clothes.

Minor injury. And no, his career is not ruined mentally. Not by a hit off the leg. Lester is a tough dude--licked cancer.

This is not Herb Score. Some of you won't remember him. He got hit in the eye by a line drive--by another Yankee, Gil McDougald. Wrecked his pitching career. Tony C got hit in the eye by a pitch. He came back big one year, but had to retire because of double vision.

Tito seems to be taking this game lightly--as he seemed to do the last time they visited NY. Bringing in AAA pitchers while the game is in reach and starting Varitek (that's like throwing in half a towel).

It's hard to relate Conigliari's case with Lester's case.
