Hi All,

Well, tomorrow (Sat) is my first trip to Fenway (tix and hotel are 40th b-day present) and the weather, she no look good. My kid and I are bussing in from New York, and I tried to figure out what the possibilities were, but I just got more confused.

Really looking forward to to tomorrow, but would love any pointers you experienced denizens of the Nation would care to share. Thanks!

so what's your question? what happens if your game is rained out? they'll probably have a doubleheader either on Sunday or at the end of September when the Jays come back to Boston

If Saturday's game gets rained out, it is likely that they would play a Day-Night Double header on Sunday. Your Saturday ticket would get you into one of the two games, most likely the nightcap. There is also the possibility that they reschedule the rainout for an open date in the schedule for both teams. Do Boston and Toronto have Monday as an open date?

Boston does but Toronto heads down to Texas. But like I posted above, Toronto comes back to Boston at the end of September.

If they add it on to the schedule at the end of September, the game will be played only if it has playoff implications.

I hope they at least compensate the guy for his tickets in that situation.

And we're in the race for the wild card so I bet the game goes forward.

I remember I drove down to Boston on a Friday to see a night game against Toronto with the threat of rain and was scared shitless that there was gonna be a rainout. There was a 45 min delay and they played nearly the entire game in a sustained mist. Got lucky there cause they've must've really wanted to get the game in.

Hey thank you all -- hoping that Trop. Storm Whathisname skims Boston. Not bloody likely, tho! What's the earliest they postpone a game? Hotel already paid for, so we'll probably just show up no matter what and hope for the best. We could make a game on Sunday, but the 8am workcall in Manhattan's gonna suuuuuck!

It really varies but even if there's pretty much a guaranteed rainout, they'll open the gates on time at 5pm to get people to buy concessions.
