This isn't quite so fantastic, ORS. At least it's not as fantastic as Adrian Gonzalez or Felix Hernandez. Depending on what's going through the minds of the Mets leadership, getting out from under that contract might be a priority, especially if Wilpon is low on cash and they don't think they'll be competitive over the next handful of years.

Closers are among the players more likely to be signed despite a Type A contract. Too many teams think of a closer as The Last Big Piece. Holding Wagner's contract at the end of the year is a near guaranteed 2 picks. If they're giving up near guaranteed picks to save a pittance of money, money is a concern for them and Santana's monster contract may well make him available for the right price.

Theo will almost definitely make at least one phone call on the subject.

Santana, Wright or Reyes will not be traded.

Well actually the discussion was why the Mets would be worried about 2M. Someone mentioned them being broke. Then the discussion turned to who else might be available now because of financial reasons.

Again get of your f***ing high horse, and don't respond if you don't care for what the current topic being discussed is.

Your constant belly aching and whining about what gets discussed has become far more annoying and predictable then anything else.

If all your going to do is drop in and tell us how much you dislike the conversation going on, please don't bother to post at all.....

Yes odds are they won't be. But they can still come up in a discussion. Especially if the discussion is about how their current team is financially strapped and apparently dumping $.

I do not require your permission to dream.

Santana and Beltran are two contracts that are very likely to be inquired about with the Mets giving money-conscious signals. It'll be up to their leadership to decide whether finances require them to take a step backward or not, but there's logic to the move.

No, I enjoy ridiculing the nonsense you bring into every thread and trying to bring the discussion back to reality. I don't need to get over anything. You need to get over the idea that I should refrain from calling the idiocy exactly what it is.

ORS head might explode in this thread:D

Someone might get a bargain on JJ Putz too for that matter.

Minaya might be wise to simply turn the roster over and "blow it up," swapping veterans for cheaper, younger contracts where he can. He's had the kind of year, and if you believe the rumors he's got the kind of financial situation, where teams sometimes decide to do that.

He's got a bloated roster but there's enough value there that he should be able to come down with something that's relevant in that division.

Dojji just gave a perfectly good reason why said players "could" be available. And yet you just cast it to the side. Do you need to hear it from Frodo Baggins before you can consider it?

You shouldn't crap on others just because they think differently then you. This site would be pretty boring and dead if everyone was just like you.

And at least we try and keep the conversations around here going. Recently all I can say for you is you drop in, tell me I'm an idiot in whichever way you feel like that day.

When exactly was the last time you had an original thought? Or had something interesting to say that didn't include the mocking of my mental well being?

s*** if it weren't for us dreamer's, you wouldn't have anything to write about and would probably have left this site a long time ago....<_>

This is petty attempt to justify your position by painting me as off my rocker with anger about your pipe dreams. This couldn't be farther from my state of mind when I respond. I'm laughing at you, not yelling at you.

That's a great point. Without us "original thinkers" this forum would be a much drier place. You can only get so far with a forum that exists as a Sabermetrics Symposium. That's a huge part of what's wrong with SoSH. They discard whole categories of thought in the quest for a "quality contribution" and as a result the whole forum sucks.

Neither is a particularly productive contribution to the forum. If you're just here to crap on other people don't be surprised when we get sick of your $***

Frodo Baggins is an interesting point. I noticed you started calling him that after I said he should stick to writing about the Shire. What was that about original thoughts?

No I never believed you to be yelling sort. I know this is all in good fun. It was just Dojji gave a fairly justifiable reason to some of those players being "available". I figured your head would explode just from that:D

Pretty sure I didn't get it from you. But if it will help your ego I'll be sure to give you credit for anything coming out of the "Shire":D

I don't need it for my ego. I just know that you didn't start using it until after I made that comment, and since all you do is muck up trade ideas from every possible source, I know he's been part of your discussions before I made it. I find it funny that someone willing to plagiarize like that will then accuse the person from who he has stolen material of being unoriginal.

So basically anyone who reads an article, posts here for everyone to see, then adds their own perspective about the topic is plagiarizing?

This whole site is f***ed....

Listen I go off what I read a lot. But I also come up with a lot of my own scenarios. The ones you usually have issue with. If anything I think too much on my own. Why you won't consider anything unless someone of note has written about it...

JFC, if you go off by what you read, maybe that's the problem, because you don't read for content very well. I didn't accuse of plagiarizing from the articles you post. I said even though you've discussed topics brought to light by Rosenthal before, you've never called him Frodo until after I made comments about him being from the Shire.

No worries here. Not sure ORS can handle the conversation though. Might get to out there for him. Or imaginative.

That post was in construction while you posted SOTK. I'll drop it. But when he mucks up another thread with fantasy, I'll let him know and he'll get all butthurt again.

Lol what an idiot.

Dream on.

I could see it with Beltran. He is nearing the end of his contract (I believe), so he could be an attractive option for other teams. Moreso than anyone else the Mets would realistically look into trading. They are in dire straits financially, so more guys could be available than we think (not Wright, Reyes is doubtful).

It's easy to use logic.

Reyes is cheap, Wright is cheap, and Santana is basically their entire starting rotation.

Why the f*** would they trade any of them?
