According to MLB.com's Jason Beck, the Tigers have acquired first baseman Aubrey Huff for minor-league right-hander Brett Jacobson.

The Tigers must feel good about Carlos Guillen's health, as he'll move back to the field and allow Huff to take over designated hitting duties. The 32-year-old Huff has hit .253/.321/.405 this season with 13 home runs and 72 RBI in 430 at-bats for the Orioles. Jacobson, 22, has a 3.74 ERA and 44/17 K/BB ratio in 55 1/3 innings of relief at the Single-A level.

Jacobson has good numbers. As for overall talent, I'm not the best judge but he seems to be pretty good. As a 22 year old in A+ he's ever so slightly on the old side though.

How good is the guy going back to the Orioles?

Seems like they might have gotten more at the TDL.

Baseball Cube is pretty high on him. Not sure how reliable they are though.

Theo is asleep at the wheel again WTF :rant: He was probably to busy waiting in line to get some Carvel Ice Cream rather than trying to get on a snipe like this.

One more lackadaisical move like this Theo and it's your job :angry:

Quick, check Tlev out, he's calling for Theos head and this must be addressed.

We wont put up with anyone who isnt willing to scrub Theo's taint with a soft bristled tooth brush and a warm soapy wash cloth. The full force of the administration will be brought down upon you for being negative, how dare anyone question Mr Epstein after he just landed us Brian Anderson Paul Byrd and AGon.

TLev = Larry Lucchino:lol:

Why would this team want Huff? They have 3 1B already. I guess maybe for DH.

We do have 10 guys who can play 1st already but I always liked Huff, a very low key guy that puts up consistant #s year after year. Its sort of reminds me of when Lou Gorman passed on Willie McGee because we had no place to play him so the best team in the league which at the time was Oakland grabbed him up and went onto bury our asses twice, in 88 and 90 to win the pennant.

I havent given up on this year and still like our chances to overcome Texas and Tampa for the wild card but Id like to see a little more fire and urgency. We are playing flat and have developed a team character much like that of Jason Bay and JD Drew, quiet pro's who to me are emotionless robots and wouldnt flinch if you stuck a hot poker up their asses..They need a clubhouse fist fight, they need to get Arod involved in this somehow this weekend, they need a reason to love each other and play the game with so much more intensity that when they wakeup in the morning they want to punch their grandmothers in the f***ing kidneys, they need to hate losing a little bit more..

There are too many men on this club underachieving without caring as far as im concerned.
