This is the team we're supposed to be.

Bay hitting for power, Drew getting on base, Lowell hitting and defending solidly.

And wrap your head around this.

8 runs without Youk, withhout V-Mart, and one time on base from Ellsbury and Pedey combined.

On top of that, Ortiz has even had a few good swings.

You do know the awesomeness of Phil Coke and Andy Petitte shut us down in the Yanks series?

I mean, Petitte doesn't suck so bad, but srsly.

beckett could go 8 tonight.

I watched Lost Son Of Havana the other night.

Tiant threw a 173 pitch complete game in game 4 of the 1975 series.

Kind of interesting how the game has changed.

Yeah, thats true. Pettitte was so lucky in that game tho. He was not as good as the result.

Pitchers are now treated like ballerinas.

I actually have a theory about that which is supported by basically every baseball person i know.

The reason that pitchers are now blowing their shoulders and elbows up so frequently is because they start throwing too hard too early in their lives.

13-year old kids are throwing full effort these days.

Did Lowell look hurt running down the line or is Francona just giving him the night off due to a blow out? (I missed play, but saw on gameday he GIDP).

I don't know if that is possible but my first impression is good. VERY smooth.

3 games in a row. A clunker from Jackson then the sox beat up on two pitchers who dont belong in AA let alone the majors. Tomorrow is the real test.

true but this team before recently was playing at a level of suck i once thought unatainable and now we are rolling without our best player, bats have woken up and I think it really means something now even if we dont have a huge winning streak I think the string of suck by our lineup is over and our pitching is stepping up and getting closer to the return of Wake and Dice-K it is a good sign and it does mean something.

Well, the starters aren't complaining. Imagine getting $10 million to throw 100 pitches.

And all a reliever has to do is to throw 1 inning.

How did they get to that point?
