All that you asked for was who would offer him 20 mil a season. I gave you my opinions and I can guarantee the yankees would be in the bidding

The Yankees are the only team willing to sign a pitcher for 20+ in this economy.

Al the other teams you mentioned would only sign a pitcher for that much in your imagination.

the Mets signed Santana for that much. And Santana didnt have any rings nor the playoff prowess that beckett has.

So you contend that:

A) Beckett is a better pitcher than Santan.

B ) The Mets have the payroll flexibility to add yet another 20 million pitcher.

No, you believe that the economy will experience significant financial growth in 2010, which makes me believe that you are hiding a secret invention that rivals the Internet in importance.

LOL.

Santana is better than Beckett.

Apparently, if it supports his argument.

does Beckett have the consistency and track record of health Santana has? f*** IT, can you honestly say with a straight face that Josh Beckett is better than Johan Santana?

Of course he can.

You asked for which other team would sign a pitcher for 20 mil a yr in this economy. I gave you an answer. Santana is better than Beckett. We all know this. But in terms of worth, Beckett may be able to approach his worth based on his work in the AL East and his dominance in the playoffs. If you dont think Beckett's playoff performance will translate to big money, then go take a look at one Beltran, Carlos and the contract he got after being unreal in the Houston playoffs.

NO ONE OTHER THAN THE YANKEES WOULD GIVE BECKETT 20+ PER.

Beckett is a damn good pitcher. Any team with money coming off the books would pay him what was necessary to bring him in. Mets, Dodgers, Angels would all be in that group. With a good agent, that number will certainly be able to top $20 million.

The Sox offered Tex over $20 million. You're crazy to think Beckett will get much less than Johan and CC.

No one except the Yankees would offer even remotely close to what CC got.

Don't be so delusional as to think everyone has the same unrestrained economic philosophy as the Yankees.

That's just stupid.

The Mets say hi again. Listen, if you want to be delusional about what one of the best pitchers in baseball will get when he becomes a FA at age 30, be my guest. But dont spout as if it is gospel. Beckett is the prototypical big game pitcher who is a surefire ace and will hit FA at age 30. He is gonna get a massive contract.

But not one that pays him 20+ per.

I spout it as gospel because it's stupid to think teams are gonna hand out 20 mill AAV to pitchers in this economy.

At least not outside of the Yankees and Jackoland.

The Mets did it in this economy. Everytime you say nobody else would do it in this economy' date=' you are wrong. Every, single, time.[/quote']

The economy will be much worse in two years. To say the Mets did it in "this economy," is dishonest.
