You can't have it both ways. Either Bay's offense isn't that good, in which case our offense doesn't really get hurt that much, or else it is good, in which case it'll hurt to lose him.

Bay's offense is really good. But, his recent slump cost him a lot of money. I said nothing about him being good or not. I just said his performance of late is costing him money, which it is.

I agree. I think Bay ends up with the Mets or the Yankees when all is said and done. That being said, I think the VMart deal had more than just this yr in mind. VMart can both catch and play 1b. Youkilis could theoretically be moved to LF if need be and you could have an IF of Tek, Martinez, Pedroia, Lowrie and Lowell for 2009 assuming the sox dont resign Bay or get another OF bat.

They have money to spend, and they will go all out to sign Holliday not only because they need him, but because they need to persuade Pujols to stay in St. Louis.

The Cardinals would have to throw a Tex like deal his way. BA is now up to .311 and his OPS is over .900. And, he turns 30 this offseason, so he will be worth a TON of money
