If we are going to have a hall of fame that currently houses a convicted murderer, a racist commisionar who prevented an entire race of men from playing the game, avowed racists like Cobb and Horsby, complete degenerate alcoholic scumbags like mantle ruth and cochrane and yet we intend to keep out the guy who has the most hits and the guy who has the most homeruns?

what is the purpose of having this building to begin with??

When asswipes like Gerry Callahan and GeorgeKing have votes on this issue while continuing to show how little they know about the game I in turn feel like burning the f***ing building down.

Joe Jackson got caught doing exactly what?

Pete Rose agreed to the lifetime ban with a deal worked out with Giamatti that wouldve allowed him in eventually then Giamatti died. This used car dealer named Bud Selig is the only fence between Rose and the Hall and the used car salesman oversaw the greatest amount of cheating this game ever witnessed in these roid scandals....Who the f*** is he to prevent a guy with 4200 hits from gaining entrance?

At least Jim Rice made it in.

too bad it took an entire decade of Roid exposure to show how great Rice really was.

He really needs to be reinstated. This is becoming a joke. I understand what he did was wrong. but I think he's paid enough.

Maybe Selig doesn't give in. But the next commish has to really consider it.

I hate the fact that ****s like Gerry Callahan and weasels like Bud Selig have the oppurtunity to judge who is or who isnt eligible for the most sacred honor given in the game.

Can you imagine the fun baseball scribes wouldve had following Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb around or interviewing a ********** like commisionar Mountain Landis or Rogers Hornsby, a guy who hit .424 and won 2 triple crowns while hitting .400 3xs and averaging .400 over a 5 year span in the 20s.

Horsby is arguably the greatest hitter ever but if he had to live thru todays scrutiny he never wouldve made it out of the Oklahoma league, check out these career #s for a 140lb 2nd baseman.

BA G AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI SB

.358 2,259 8,173 1,579 2,930 541 169 301 1,584 135

I never saw this guy play, never heard a word he spoke and couldnt identify him in a lineup full of chinamen but would anyone dare argue his baseball credentials to gain entry?

Well with his attitude the NAACP would boycott the Hall and maybe even the State of Ny if they heard him speak his mind so again, would yesterdays players be capable of surviving todays scrutiny?

Im not to be confused with Martin Luther King but if we are speaking of ethical requirements to gain entry in the hall of fame shouldnt we also revisit the games sordid past players and reevaluate their careers, attitudes and behavioral patterns like we do todays players?

I hate Pete Rose and honestly speaking I dont think he was in the top 3 players on those Reds teams from the 70s but longevitiy being what it is,someone had those 4200 hits and if you do the math its amazing...4200 hits = 21x200, simply amazing...He was a ********** but he won and he hit and he scored and he played the game like we want all the guys to play it.

In the name of God let him in.

True, true.

It's in the hands of the Veterans' Committee now, where it should be. They will vote the pompous, nasty, lying bastard in, as they should.
