I can see a reason for this thread. I've been keeping up with Lugo's performances, although the same can't be said for Cora. I just kind of forgot about him.

I don't really see the sarcasm for Cora, though. I don't know anyone who loathed Cora. He was a cheap utility middle IF who did his job and had some great moments.

I hate Alex Cora.

Alex was a standard fare garden variety utility infielder. He's literally not worth the effort of hating after he's gone. He did his job, earned his money and moved on.

 

Lugo on the other hand was a huge underachieving waste of a lot of money and cost us a dang good pick to acquire. It's more than apropos to spend some time hating Lugo.

I don't either. Many on the board have referred to him as a "bag of suck" or something similar. He was a decent utility player that was ready to go and was well liked in the clubhouse.

Francona had a knack for using Cora effectively.

Isnt it funny how we're int the middle of an offensive calamity and we go and dump 1 of 2 guys who are hitting .300 as his replacement hits .073?
