Yankees recall Melancon, send Aceves down

This is a good move. Aceves goes down because we dont need our #5 starter until July 21. This allows him to get a start on full rest in the minors to get the pitch count up to at least 80 when he's ready to return.

 

Melancon comes up for the second time after having a rough go the first time around. He continues to put up video game numbers in AAA and could have a chance to stick for good if he outpitches Brett Tomko, something I think he can do. His numbers on the yr...

Since he struggled with the Yankees and was went back down, Melancon's had a 3.38 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 29.1 innings at AAA. They may have brought him up a little too early.
