I'll lose my 15 pounds when hubby loses his Wakefield like beer belly. Which probably won't happen, since beer is hubby's nectar of youth. Or something. :D

C'mon team, get out of this inning.

Last year's first round draft pick Casey Kelly just made his last start of the season. He went 6 innings, giving up 6 hits, 1 run and 1 walk while striking out 5. I believe his ERA on the year is under 2.00 now.

He'll play the rest of the year as a shortstop (his preferred position).

Sounds like we're kindred spirits. I like to think it will make me live longer

We're in a tough game here' date=' and we're talking fatties and hobbits here. You guys think you're better fans than regulars in a bar? lol!![/quote']

I'm Canadian, my entire life is a bar.

it's a two run game and one of you guys promised me that as soon as a righty came in we'd see kotsay. Well, Norman Bates, the horror show, has already had 1 AB aginst the righty. He's due up third in this inning. Does Kotsay bat? Bates has made contact once in these two games.

After a while, there's only so many ways to say "WHOOHOOO" and "Oh f***."

I don't think Kotsay's healthy, he was day-to-day last I knew. When he's healthy, he'll start.

So' date=' why not bring up Carter instead of this kid?[/quote']

It probably has to do with the amount of options Carter has left.

If a guys has an option left, I think you can send him back and forth all season long. Does anyone know the rule on that. I'd rather see carter getting these AB's

Is Carter better? If we're looking at SSS from this year (which we are), Carter is 0 for 5 with 4 Ks. Sound familiar?

I believe that is only true when the player is already on the 40-man roster. Carter is not on the 40-man.

Wrong on both counts, Dutchy. Carter is on the 40 man and you only burn one option even if you ride the bus all year.

THe problem is, Carter sucks. Bad defensively, bad year so far offensively.

No, he's not. Carter is a backup player at best. He has a good bat for a minor leaguer but can't play defense. He's basically a roster filler.

You're right, my bad. He's listed as an outfielder (WTF?) on the 40-man. I just checked the infielders.

That's because Carter mostly plays LF and DH these days. He is most definitely and extremely not an option at 1B.
