According to two sources, the Red Sox have promoted outfielder Ryan Kalish to Double-A Portland. Kalish, 21, was hitting .304/.434/.504 with 5 home runs and 8 stolen bases in 32 games with Advanced-A Salem. He split the 2008 season between Greenville and Lancaster, hitting .273/.365/.363 with 5 home runs and 19 stolen bases, spending much of the season coming back from a wrist injury that he suffered late in the 2007 season. Kalish also played for North Shore Honu in the Hawaii Winter League this off-season. Drafted in the ninth round in 2006, Kalish is presently the seventh ranked prospect in the system according to SoxProspects.com.

The kid's a bust. He didn't impress me at all. I saw him at ST and he hit a come backer to the pitcher. Package him and a couple of other prospects for a good starting pitcher (maybe Halladay if Toronto drops from the race) at the trading deadline. Don't wait till he flops like Craig Hansen.:lol::lol::lol:

Given your track record on prospects' date=' no.[/quote']I was poking some fun. I thought the 4 laughing smiley's and the fact that I referenced one AB would give it away. For your future reference, I usually observe a player for a couple or three games minimum before I offer an opinion and even then I would never declare that a guy is a bust. I will say that a guy still seems raw and in need of development. The only guy that fooled me entirely was Pedroia, and I never declared that he would be a bust. I really thought that he would at best be a Mark Loretta type player.

the fact that you mentioned even the slightest possibility the Jays would trade Halladay within the division gave you away in my eyes
