Crawford's going to hit for cycle' date=' Im so sick of this guy.[/quote']He's a Sox killer. I'd like to have him in a Boston uni.

Penny is probably capable of performing in an independent league' date=' say, maybe, in Brockton.[/quote']

To be fair, 2 of his last 3 starts have been solid. The Cleveland debacle was mixed in there, but he hasn't been all bad.

At least he got out of it.

Eck is mildly entertaining, but he only knows a couple of terms and relies on them non-stop (cheese, tuna, etc)

And Moss and salad.

And quail.

he has a 7.22 ERA in 30 IP , that's pretty awfull

This Rays team just kills the Sox. They consistnetly look like the most fundamentally sound team that has ever played the game. Frustrating.

The Sox have a very good team, but we have to hope they don't see the Rays in the playoffs or they could be sent home early again this year.

I guess people differ on their definition of "not too bad". He has SOME skill. But he is almost always behind in the count and he gets tagged way too often.

I'm not claiming the guy is Cy Young. He has had 2 really bad starts which balooned his ERA, but also had some solid outings for us.

April 11 @ LAA - 6 IP, 3 ER, 2 K

April 22 vs Minnesota - 6 IP, 2 ER, 2 K

May 3 @ Tampa Bay - 6 IP, 3 ER, 8 K

No one seems to mention those though. And he's keeping us in it tonight, we just can't score.

They do seem to have the Red Sox's number. :(

i hate rays

they f***ing own us, Jesus christ i hate them

I disagree. While I'd prefer to see the Sox kick their asses all year long, They are a talented team that provide entertainment to most fans of the game. I am not so sure they will repeat their accomplishments of '08.

Yeah you do have a point, he has done pretty well tonight 6 IP and 3 runs isn't bad at all for a #5 starter, but Id much rather have Smoltz over him in the rotation, I am hoping they keep Masterson in rotation when Dice-k returns but I doubt it.

I find the Rays to actually be a likeable team.

Last year I was depressed about the Rays, wondering "how can a team with THAT payroll beat a team with all the advantages like the Sox?"

Now I think I know. They have used their draft picks well and have added some nice pieces along the way. Adding Kazmir, Navarro and Pena has been huge, and drafting guys like Upton and Longoria will make any team very good.

You know' date=' Penny wasn't too awful. 6 innings, 8 baserunners, 3 runs. Not good, but decent. Certainly not one of his worst games this year. I'd put him back for the 7th.[/quote']

Thank you.

If we're not facing James Shields and scoring 5-6 runs we'd be talking about how nice of a job Penny is doing. I'll take 6 IP 3 ER. That's keeping us in it and giving us a chance to win. Just no offense tonight.
