robbed? how so? the crew in Toronto spent a lot of time reviewing the play, looking for CONCLUSIVE evidence of a goal. There was was none.

 

Are you saying you could definitely tell if there was space between the puck and the line...you are 100% sure?

 

I think the Canes will win this game regardless, but objectively speaking I don't see how anyone can say that puck definitely went over the line.

Can't say that, the initial call was no goal, and they reviewed it in Toronto.

 

If it was called a goal, that wouldn't have been overturned.

TSN had a still shot from the overhead camera showing the puck on its end in the net with a sliver of white ice between the puck and the red goal line.

I saw what I saw on TSN and believe me, if I find that stillshot somewhere online, I'll post it here but seeing what I saw, if Toronto ruled it wasn't a goal then I can only conclude they didn't see the shot that I saw. There's no anti-Bruins sentiment from me on this one.

Tough one to swallow tonight.

 

I didn't think we played as horribly as we would all like to think, but Carolina really impressed me defensively in their own zone. Did a good job crowding the net and we really didn't get much in close, and Ward stood on his head. I'm not all that worried though, I expected Ward to steal at least one game, maybe even 2.

 

I expect the boys to come out gunning in Carolina for game 3.

I actually was offered 2 tickets to this one but I had to unfortunately turn them down because I have a pretty important final for my finance class tomorrow and I have A LOT to learn before 10am. Been studying since 11am on Sunday morning, still going strong.

 

I'll hopefully be there for the Celtics game tomorrow though

It's hard to tell where the red line starts and red line stops. If you can definitively tell that that's in, more power to ya.

That pic looks like maybe the puck was over the line by a pubic hair...that said I believe the league did the absolute right thing in NOT overturning the call on the ice. Simply to close to say that the ref got it it wrong.

 

As it turns out it made no difference and that's a good thing.

 

The Canes played exactly the way I feared they might...careful execution, very opportunistic...almost B's-like. This is the way they looked down the stretch in the regular season...they can stifle an opponent when they play within their own system. However, let's look at it another way...eliminate the short-handed goal and you're looking at a 1-goal game and if not for Cam Ward the B's could have potted a couple. The Bruins did not play all that bad, but they'll have to find a way to get one in Carolina.

I honestly couldn't care less who wins between the two teams and truthfully, I'm only interested in good hockey at this point and I think the Bruins are a better team. The only team I hate is Toronto. But if the Bruins ended up winning 3-2 in overtime, I'd be of the opinion that the Hurricanes were cheated

That's the same clip I saw when watching it. That's actually when I also said that it was probably a goal, but at the same time I can't argue with not overturning the call on the ice. Definitive evidence? No way. Too close. If they had called it a goal, I would maintain the same stance - too close to overturn.

Very frustrating game to watch last night. No flow, no real command of the game. There were periods where the B's carried the play, no doubt, but the Canes did a tremendous job of keeping them to the outside, battling for loose pucks, and once again were very opportunistic.

 

B's weren't really "outplayed" per se, but they did make more, or bigger, mistakes.

 

The Montador attempted clear...why is he winding up for a slapper of a bouncing puck when the puck just squirted out of a scrum...obviously their are opponents nearby....that was one of the most lame decisions I've seen in a long time. Then to OT goal, Chara's attempted clear gets picked at the line...not sure if it's him or the forward who is more to blame, but that can't happen in OT...of course on the ensuing play, he got absolutely owned on on one.

 

Now I'm remembering why this was the one team I didn't want the B's to play. They are very well coached and totally buy into the system they're using.
