I can't watch the game. The barbarians amongst whom I live don't think cable TV is a necessary expense.

Since I can't see the action: were the Bruins' two goals well executed or just softies? And how have both goaltenders looked in general (I notice a huge shot disparitiy favoring the Bruins)

figures, I expected the habs to get blown out and they wind up teasing me by making me think they just might win. Plekanec doesnt belong anywhere near a hockey rink for a long, long time....makes me even sadder Robert Lang got injured that we're forced to put that sloth on the ice

Komisarek needs suspended for gouging Hunwick's eye. The NHL needs to make something happen there. If someone is bleeding for a player's antics after the whistle that player needs to miss games.

Wait, do you pay for MLB.tv then to watch the Red Sox?

I pay for Gameday Audio. I'm within the blackout region for the Red Sox so even if I paid for MLB.TV I couldn't watch them.

 

And yes, there's a reason I pay for Gameday Audio even though I'm in New England. The station that carries the Sox around here is on the other side of a G_D__ hill so I can't get their signal cleanly without interference from a station that's much closer and overwhelms the band.

Just got in from work. Good to see we took care of business tonight. I haven't seen much in the way of highlights or anything, but heard the Habs were really mixing it up late in the game trying to fight and such. What all went down?

Komisarek tried to put the hurt on Matt Hunwick after the siren and Hunwick wound up bleeding from the eye, Kessel got mugged by a Hab after scoring the ENG, and I think that wasn't all, just the ones that people are really screaming about over at HFBoards.

I believe Game 2 Saturday is the only game scheduled to be on Versus. Pisses me off. It won't let me watch on NESN. I tried Tivo'ing the game tonight and it was blacked out.

Just goes to show how classless this entire Habs team is. They threw their goon Laraque out there too, but they still haven't figured out that they won't be intimidating the '09 B's out of a series.

Was very nervous throughout the 2nd and when they were dominated in the 3rd. Fortunately they took control of the final 10 minutes. Lucic was the best player on the ice tonight. Set the tone early. Made a great play to set up the 2nd goal. I'd like to see him get some power play time, as a big body in front of the net.

 

Komisarek's a bitch everyone knows that. Won't go after Lucic or Chara, but he'll be glad to go after Krejci or Hunwick. I dont know if he should be suspended or not for the eye gouge or not. He probably will, but I kind of feel that one should be suspended for legit career threatening hits, or hits to the head. I'll have to watch the Dafoomie videos when he puts it up. Lapierre going after Kessel after he scored is just typical Canadiens hockey...

 

They're going to need a full 60 minute effort on Saturday though. This won't cut it.

for what its worth, what Komisarek and Kostopoulos did after the empty-netter makes me a bit embarassed to be a Habs fan. I can understand the Habs are trying to get the Bruins riled up to take stupid penalties later on in the series but eye-gouging and head-hunting are uncalled for

That's pretty much true. Although before we swapped out Nokelainen (a Finn) and brought in Recchi and Montador (both from British Columbia) it was very borderline.
