Three things above all others I don't want to hear right now

Recommended Posts

"Daisuke Matsuzaka will make his next scheduled start."

I really think he needs some DL time to help him get his stuff together -- like a month or more to really get his arm right. Masterson can do his job better than he does right now.

"The Red Sox will make major roster or lineup changes as a result of a bad 8 game stretch at the start of the season."

Cold streaks and slumps suck, hard, especially in a tight pennant race, but that's all this is. Each of our competitors will have their turn too

"The Red Sox have suffered another injury."

Seriously, enough already.

Here's something I don't want to hear:

"The Red Sox were never in the mix for Mark Teixieira because he and his wife liked New York better the whole time."

I don't want to hear "Josh Beckett should be suspended cause Joba Chamberlain was suspended for throwing at Kevin Youkilis"

You don't want Dice-K on the mound at home for a start in the finale of a series that could go a long way towards getting us back on track?

Not if he's going to pitch the way he has in his first two appearances this year, I don't. No, thank you. Masterson should be adequate if given proper time to prepare.

you know, i come on here about 4 months ago in the off season to read everyone saying "its going to be ok". we really didn't do s*** in the off season to keep of the the rays and the Yankees. we really weren't going to be ok after the best hitting in baseball went to the la and we should have all known that papi is done. his best friend is gone and i don't think i could hit a beach ball right now. i know it doesn't help when are MVP isn't hitting right now, but we know this is how he started last year so im not that worried about that. i think its time for some line up changes and a trade or 4. papi shouldn't be anywhere close to the 3 spot right now. i don't know what its going to take for Francona to see this. he is starting to piss me off more then anything.

on a good note, i really don't see Theo letting this season get to out of hand before making some needed changes.

The team has won two titles this decade, they've indicated they can't compete with the Yanks for EVERY free agent, they've stated that they can go for it something like 6 or 7 of every 10 years, but that they know there will be seasons where they take a step back for the LT health of the organization.

This may be one of those years...certainly the relatively low-cost moves they DID make this offseason allow them that latitude.

Relax...if you're looking for a wire to wire victory every year, you're expectations are unrealistic. Let it play out...if the season progresses and they're in contention, but have some holes, THEN they should seek to fill them. To react NOW could be very dangerous. It could turn out that, because of diminishing performances (i.e. Ortiz, Matsu, etc.) and injury, that this team may simply not be good enough to contend this year...you can't start making radical moves that cost the team long-term but which still don't get you much in the way of results.

Coco's Disciples is a major douche bag who only posts one liners and doesn't have anything substantial to say unless it comes to Lost analysis

"Ortiz gets jammed and pops it up"

Right. Along the same lines, "Ellsbury hits a shallow fly ball to right field..." and "Drew a slow grounder to the second baseman..."

ok, ill maybe give you pujols, arod is a no. pujols and Manny had the just about the same numbers last year. i think pujols had 37 HR, 115 RBI's and 360 AVG. Manny had 37 HR, 121 RBI and 332 AVG. so if you think pujols and arod is batter that would make him the 3rd best hitting. are you saying you wouldnt want that on your team? all we have to do is keep him happy and we couldnt do that. i know his a dick, but he can hit. we all know that.

Julio Lugo should be fit within 2 weeks.

Who honestly wants that?

Just because he is fit, doesn't mean his is capable of not being a 36M dollar waste at SS. But maybe by some stroke of luck or Steroid use, he can put together a few good weeks so the Sox can ship him out of town.

Not me, unless the cloned Hanley and stuck Lugo's face on it.

He's an upgrade over Nick Green, who would make a nice utility man but isn't going to produce offensively over any kind of long run

problem is he signed a starter's contract, he wants to start, but he is nothing more then a solid bench player who can play almost every position except catcher.
