Jacoby was 8 for 20 over the weekend and if he can get it going, thats HUGE. Can you imagine what its like for a pitcher to pitch to Pedroia while having to pay attention to Ellsbury on first?

There is a lot of optimism for this team now that Youk is not the only one contributing in offense.

Papi may not hit 35HR+, but I'll take those doubles off the monster all day.

Ellsbury and Pedroia where money at the top of the order yesterday.

Masterson looked strong. Trade Dice-K and give him the rotation spot;)

BP is strong, I hope they don't lean on it too much early on in the year.

And finally my last reason for optimism, Lugo is still not in the lineup.

But Nick Green is.

Anyways, BP awesomeness is my main reason for optimism.

Theyre too deep in pitching to suck all year

they may struggle to score from time to time but their pitching will be good enuff to keep them in the race till the end,id like another bopper, especially since ortiz isnt hitting the ball well or at all.

they didnt gear this offense any differently than they have had in years past so the big guys are going to have to hit the ball but i maintain the key to this teams success is at the top of the order, when ellsbury gets on base they win...If he dont they struggle.

7 straight wins, 2 series sweeps.

in that span: 55 runs scored, 20 runs surrendered; Wakefield, Lester, and Beckett dominated. Bullpen is still amazing. Ellsbury, Pedroia, and Papi are getting hot.

the sox are hot right now, all pistons firing. They get to face the yankees who have their problems, but are tied with the sox nonetheless. Once Wang gets out of his funk and we get ARod back, this team is gonna be ridiculous. Cannot wait to catch the games back in the states. Unfortunately, I miss the one tomorrow. Be back on on Saturday. Adios

The Jays just had Ricky Romero land on the DL, a guy who started well and was only in there because of the injuries to their starting pitching. I literally can't name anyone in their rotation off the top of my head besides Halladay and David Purcey.

Plus BJ Ryan isn't what he used to be, I just don't see how they stay competitive for much longer

Litsch?

Ryan will be back on the DL under some pretense soon and Downs or Accardo will be the closer.

EDIT: Sooner than I thought. Jays announce Ryan to the DL.

Jason Bay. This guy is a monster and needs to be extended.

Hunter Jones and Michael Bowden did an awesome job filling in. Hell, even JVE got on base.

Jason Varitek and Mike Lowell.

Everyone, (myself included), thought they would be massive black holes in the bottom of the lineup, but guess what?

Lowell's been one of our best hitters and the Cap has been coming through consistently on the clutch, hell, they almost single-handedly destroyed the Yankees on Saturday combining for 10 RBI, awesome.

I've really been rooting for Lowell but this tear he's on surprises even me. I thought he'd be a bit slow out of the gate because of the hip. As for Varitek... wow. So this is what a bounceback year looks like. I haven't seen this version of Tek since 2005.

It's early but Jacoby has been a surprise since I started thinking that we made a mistake not dealing him for Santana when his trade value was highest. If he has solved his problem of how to deal with the inside fastball and can get on base - he can do some amazing things with the blazing speed as he demoed in the weekend.

In terms of surprises

1. Tek ( so far so good).

2. Lowell ( Hip does not look bad any more).

3. Ellsbury.

Looks like Jobas mama and Rosie Odonnell are sisters seperated by nothing more than a good ole meth habit and the 100lbs of chin odonnell carries, you cant run away from genetics Mr Chamberlain.

And for you men who suffer from premature ejaculation issues, put this picture on your headboard and that will end quickly.
