He is not stretched out by any means. If you wish to try and break him, put him in the rotation right now and "stretch him out" like we did with Joba. Worked GREAT.

Lester struggled early last year too. He doesn't do particularly well in cold weather.

I'm honestly more worried about Beckett. We need him to be the man.,

It was 55 degrees in Oakland

#2 is just wrong. Matsuzaka's slot isnt due for another 4-5 days. Why bring up a starter now when the pen is coming off a day where the entire pen sans Saito was used? It made sense to bring up a reliever they can use for the next few day and then call up Buchholz. If the sox wish is to put Masterson in the rotation after shortening him to a reliever with no IP buildup' date=' then it was a poor plan (see Joba 2008). I think the sox will use Buchholz and piggyback Masterson if Buch struggles.[/quote']

I've never been a fan of Dice-K, even with the stats he put up last year. He's just too agonizing to watch.

All the yankee fans were telling me last year how good Dice-k was doing and complementing me on my red sox team having some good pitching. I told them I wasn't a fan of Dice-k at all. He started the season last year 8-0. And he averaged about 173 pitches and 66 walks in 5 innings in each of those starts LOL. I'm overexagerating of course. But ytou get my point. His pitch count was very high, and he walked a lot of batters, and hardly went past the 5th inning. Those aren't good stats. I never was, and I'm still not comfortable with him in the rotation. The Bullpen saved his ass last year. I still don't know ho whe was 18-3. And how he is lights out in the wold baseball classic, but comes back to boston and sucks ass confusses me.

If only he could get that 4-5 MPH back that he had when he first came to the States.

I watched the exhibition game he pitched against the Mets at Citi field, and he wasn't even hitting 88 on his fast balls. Everything was 86mph. That's not good.

It's why I have said for awhile I wouldn't be totally against a trade of Dice-K. Cash in on his current value. There are numerous NL teams that would take Dice-K, and the Sox could probably count on a good return.

Honestly Masterson/Buchholz someone can go out there and give 5-6 innings and give up 3 or 4 runs, which is what about Dice-K gives the team.

If he stays with the team, the really need to change his approach IMO.

For some reason I think dice-k would be better off in the NL.

I think basically every pitcher would be better off in the NL.

I think I would do better in the NL LOL!

His style is better suited for the N and that's where I think he could maximize his effectiveness.

But like Coco said, anyone would be better of in the NL.

So the fact I didn't get lambasted for mentioning trading Dice-K leads me to think some of you would be open to the idea of it?

Of course we're open to the idea of it -- Daisuke's underperforming. Fans tend to be weathervanes more than windmakers. I still don't think Theo would be smart to actually do it if we have a reasonable chance of getting the old Daisuke back at some point.
