It doesn’t make him any less guilty, any less accountable or any less of a Yankee (subtle Yankee jab) but it’s refreshing as hell to see someone say “I f’d up, I made a mistake and I’ll have to deal with it”. He’s fricking human, he made a horrible choice and he’ll have to deal with it.

Thanks - by Curt Schilling at 38pitches.com

You can count on Curt to have an opinion on anything...

If you didn't care, you wouldn't have clicked on the thread

Nothing' date=' but it implied that Curt should keep his mouth shut every once in awhile[/quote']

Again, what's wrong with what he said?

Posted

Why don't you just tell me what you're waiting for me to say?

I don't like people who bash Curt for having an opinion but are always interested when he expresses an opinion

Posted
As do we' date=' which is why I like Curt. He's genuinely a fan of the game. Many, many players are not.[/quote']

Agreed, although does anyone get the slightest feeling that he's holding back here...I mean, does Curt REALLY believe what he's just heard? Or is he simply saying, from a high-level analysis, at least he didn't deny? I think he knows thta a lot of what he just heard is ******** but is genuinely pleased that someone didn't flat out deny.

Every once in awhile, but I like hearing his opinions. I dont see what the problem with him doing that is. It's interesting, and for the most part he has some good insight.

He should keep his mouth shut every once in a while. That's precisely the problem. I never said that I didn't care about what Schilling said, so don't bottlefeed me that garbage. Schilling does have an opinion on everything, whether or not he should. Personally I clicked on the thread because I wanted to see what stupid/angry junk comes out of his mouth. Some of the time, Schilling is right, but he talks about things he has no background on and shouldn't be getting involved in. He seems to actively find the media and give his opinion (with a few jabs) on nearly anything.

The world may be gone, with a few cockroaches and Keith Richards left, and Curt Schilling will be there looking to give his opinion on it to someone....

Nice insight from Curt. I may not agree with what he says all the time, but I recognize his perspective and always find it interesting. He's building a nice bridge to the commentators booth/ ESPN/MLBNetwork ect.

I think Curt is just as entitled to an opinion as anyone else unless he comments about the importance of showing up to ST in shape

Has A Rod really come clean? Why haven't his HR totals dropped like Brian Roberts did, when Roberts went off steroids. He went from 18 HR to 9. I would expect A-Rod's HR totals to go from 50 to 25 now that he is "clean", instead he still hammered 50 some HR two years ago.

He needed the steroids to be a great hitter in TX, what is different now? All it takes is a designer steroid that can't be detected.

I dont think he needs them to be a big power hitter. Also, the effects of roids are not just immediate. The extra muscle he built is still benefitting him today

This is something that the 'roid ranters always get wrong. A person who gains size through steroids and gym work will maintain most of it if they go off the juice but continue to hit the gym with the same frequency.

I was watching a sports channel last night and they did a thing on ARod...showed a little of Seattle, Texas and then NY. Although the intent was not to show his size, there was one clip where he was in the Yankees away uniform, I think it was 2007...he looked absolutlely huge...they showed him next to a couple of teammates and his head, neck, shoulders and legs just looked massive relative to his teammates and especially as compared to his earlier days.

No way this lieing f*** quit after 2003. If ARod was Pinnochio his nose would like a fkn broomhandle.

I don't disagree, RC. I was just adding to what Jacko said in response to Bobby Jr's deficient point about expecting his performance to drop off to 50% after he "quits".

Hey, ORS, I should have made it clear that I totally agree with you and wasn't responding to that issue. In fact, now that I think about it, even if he switched to HGH and lost some of the bulking properties of the 'roids he was taking, you're right, he'd still retian a lot of the muscular gain, so maybe he's getting MORE benefit by switching from steroids to HGH or whatever designer thing he might be using...and you're right even if he did quit, which is questionable, that size and strength he's hanging onto is still benefitting him.

"Arod, so you don't know what you took and you only did it from 2001-2003 and it was only because of the teemendous pressure in Texas, the hot bed of MLB?"

"Yes, that's right"

That is a valid point. But even if A-Rod is not taking steroids now he is still benefiting from using them years ago.

My personal belief is that he is still juicing, but there is of course no proof.
