Remember this time last season (and all summer of 2007)' date=' there was unbelievable amounts of hype and anticipation surrounding this team, not to mention a lot of doubters who kept bitching about chemistry and shots. The team had motivation last season, right out of the gate. This year, they're established, they won the title, they don't have anything to prove (except maybe that they can repeat, but that can't be proven in November), so as a result they're more relaxed this year. The C's are pacing themselves. They'll be fine.[/quote']

I think they were exhausted last night. Someone like Kevin Garnett doesn't let you "relax" whether you're Garnett himself or one of his teammates.

Why does there have to be an excuse for them losing? Let's not forget the Nuggets were playing their second game in as many nights, and had to travel from Cleveland to Boston in between, so they weren't exactly fresh.

I expect them to bring it in milwaukee tomorw...

...

This is begining to look like a team that can't get separation.

Forced into an overtime by the Milwaukee BUcks. At least they won I guess.

If this Celtics team can't show that it can put teams away then everyone's going to be playing their A game in the 4th quarter knowing they have a good chance to catch up, which will have a real draining effect on our big players since we can't bring in the junktime guys -- because there is no junktime.

I wasn't making an excuse necessarily. I was just refuting their "more relaxed" attitude going into games.

Glad that ridiculous stretch of games is over...

8 games in 12 days... I'm not so surprised they were lethargic and kept settling for jumpers throughout the last few games.

We only have 3 games this week, so hopefully we can cool off a bit and get the legs rested.

Rajon Rondo sucks.

Tough game tonight. Knicks are playing some solid ball, KG is out with the most ridiculous suspension of all time. At least he'll be real fresh for Detroit..

I'm looking for Pierce to RUIN Q-Rich tonight, the guy plays no D

Scal wasn't bad starting out. Missed a 3, took a charge, and had an assist. I'll take that all night long out of Scal, as long as he's taking open 3s.

I liked Doc's reasoning for starting Scal over Leon... he wanted to keep the bench in tact, and we're gonna need them if we want to win tonight.

I think they'll be much closer to .500 than that. Barring one bad loss to Milwaukee and a good win against Utah, they've been winning the games they should, and losing the games they should.

I think once Steph gets out of there, they'll be able to focus more and play a little better, especially as Chandler (who is turning out to be a very very good player) develops more and finds a role.

I think they can be an 8 seed if they can go out and get a legit point guard instead of Robinson.

I realize that, but looking at it realistically, of the bottom teams in the East, the Bulls are the only ones who play marginally good defense. Charlotte has a good 'points allowed' number, but that's more of a testament to how slow of a pace they play with.

I feel like it's a race between the Heat, Bulls, and Knicks for the 8th spot, and they'll all be real close together around .500.

They haven't played defense since Van Gundy was there. The difference is they have an offensive system that takes advantage of their talent.

They're not going to be a good team, but they'll be average, which is way better than I'm used to watching.

"I'm just real curious to see what those guys will be saying if we weren't in a basketball league and didn't have referees," Knicks forward Quentin Richardson said. "I mean, it wouldn't be the same story. I mean, they are the world champions and rah, rah, rah, but the tough part I don't factor.

"I come from a neighborhood where you can say what you want to say, but until you do something, it don't mean nothing."

Like say, win the NBA title? Shut the f*** up Richardson. You've lost 7 straight times and they're the champs. Not the time to shoot your mouth off.

It's still early, but if I'm doing my math right, that's 270-390... .409 winning percentage. If it wasn't for one year where he ended up getting latched on in Phoenix it wouldn't even be close to that high.

I had my TV on mute for much of the 4th quarter because I was tryin to get some work done, and I remember looking up and seeing Pierce at the line laughing at him and that other fool Randolph. And I hope he wasn't referring to Pierce, Garnett, and Allen because they all have numbers on him. Hopefully he wasn't talking about the guys on the bench either, I don't care how young they are, Q, but they just balled on your ass, and you completely s*** the bed aside from a few shots in the first half.

Q-Bitch, you truly are the definition of a loser, and a piece of s***.

Great game. Put a good team down.

Looks like Scalabrine is lobbying for a piece of the "number of different ways we try to replace James Posey" pie.

Also, Pruitt and POB sightings. Nothing to actually judge a guy on but both made some interesting plays.

Posted

POB looked slow and lethargic, I expect him to be released at some point. Pruitt NEEDS more time back there, I've been calling for this for a while now, because he can be a really really good PG, he just needs to see some burn in real game situations, not against Will Bynum, a former Celtic reject who was having trouble hitting from point blank tonight.

Iverson quit, didn't play defense on Rondo in the third quarter. Curry didn't even thinking about making a defensive adjustment on that high screen with Rondo and KG, they kept letting Iverson get rubbed off and letting Rondo get a step, instead of rolling under it and staying in front of Rondo or switching off of it.

Pathetic performance from the Pistons.
