Game 1, as I recall it, featured a decent sized strikezone. I think the favors Beckett who has been close when he fell behind, and has been close trying to punch people out. Shields has been a little more out of the zone with his misses.

It's 9 feet. Don't ask why it's 9, if forced to guess I'd say that's the average base stealer's lead. Really, it's just a baseline to let you know how big the leadoff is relative to other runners.
