It's Bay's birthday. I am surprised that he didn't fly home to spend it with his family.

Ok, the joke's old at this point sir.

The 1 run loss to Tampa is still fresh in my mind though, and so are Kotsay's pop ups in that game. If the Sox don't win the division, they will lose in the first round to the Angels with the limping lineup they will put out there.

If the Sox don;t win the division it's because Papelbon blew the Bay HR game and Timlin the next night.

The difference Dude is that they didn't chose to do those things. Bay chose to leave the team in the two biggest games of the year.

Stop being a f***ing ****. HE WENT TO SEE HIS CHILD GET BORN.

Those were the two biggest games of the year. He should've been there.

Just like when manny skipped an entire month this last two years?

It's not Lester's day. Get him out of there and let him rest up a little. They are going to need him in top form in the playoffs, because he's not going to get a lot of offensive support.

I thought he had an oblique injury last year' date=' and he got traded this year.[/quote']

2006 he quit on the team

2007 he missed a month due to injury

HOW DARE JASON BAY MISS TWO GAMES

Injury can't be helped. He also claimed injury in 2006. It would've been a much bigger deal if the team wasn't dead in Sept 2006 and everyone was mailing it in. I never supported Manny for quitting, in 2006 or ever. It just didn't matter in 2006. When he quit, the team was already done.

They had a chance to run Hans Klopek out of the game after 6, but the bottom three made their outs on 10 pitches. He'll probably be out there for the 7th.

You know, Manny was a dick for what he did due his sensitivity to playing in the Boston market, but he really has a point when people are harping on players for missing 2 games for the birth of their child. Bay will be a professional baseball player for about 15 years of his life, he'll be a father for the rest of it. Get some perspective.

Maybe, maybe not. Those that place importance on "being there" are probably the same that will place importance on "being there" at other times in the parenting process. I certainly won't fault anyone who places family above work.
