Would you be unwilling to pitch to the anyone in the current Red Sox lineup?

IMHO.....

With the current injuries, manny gone, and this bullpen....I just don't see US going very far this year. ( And this hurts me, believe me)

I don't post much ( cuz I usually get bashed) but I do read read here occasionally, just wondering what others think.

Was there anyone you wouldn't pitch to on the '05 White Sox? The '02 Angels? And, if you really think about it, the latest Yankee dynasty? Not the recent all-star teams from a decade ago, but the squad that actually won something.

I fail to see the connection between fearsome hitter and WS success. Sure, it helps to have one, but it isn't a prerequisite.

I ask this: what the hell is wrong with the following lineup? (aside from maybe Ellsbury at the top)

Ellsbury

Pedroia

Ortiz

Youkilis

Bay

Lowell

Drew

Lowrie

Varitek

I see an unrelenting lineup that can string together hits with the best of 'em with Pedroia, Ortiz, Youkilis, Bay, Lowell and Drew able to pop out a homer on a regular basis

Does anyone really realize how lucky we were to see Ortiz and Manny hitting 3-4 in the prime of their careers and how rare it is to see such a powerful 3-4 combo not matter which era you look at?

Why is one of our worst hitters getting the most AB's?

Drew has been better than Lowell, and batting him 7th would waste his OBP.

What about this:

Pedroia

Drew

Ortiz

Youkilis

Bay

Lowell

Lowrie

Kotsay

Varitek

Kotsay is solid, but he's nowhere near Ellsbury's class in the field, or on the basepaths.

I'd move Ellsbury down. While Drew is out, play Kotsay in his place.

lowell is more consistant than drew

they have similar #s in similar amount of time but drew packaged all his in the month of june while lowells been basically a .270 hitter all year.

If Lowell is more consistant, why does JD Drew best him in OPS by over 100 points?

Crunch said he was more consistent, not better. I haven't looked at the numbers, but he does have a point. While his OBP has been good all year, and I'm OK with that, his power surge was just 30 days long.

Dude had a .984 OPS in the first half and had a .755 in the second (granted, that's not great - but it's still better than Lowell's .505)

It's a joke that anyone compares the two's seasons and insinuates Lowell has been better. Not even close.

"Better" is your strawman. "Consistent" is the point made. Now, Crunch has said he'd bat Lowell 6th and Drew 7th because Lowell is more consistent, and I disagree. I go for the better player there. Nobody has addressed the point he made, however.

OPS by month:
Player|Mar\Apr|May|June|July|Aug|Games Played

Drew|.787|.799|1.309|.802|.821|107

Lowell|.485|.899|1.033|.576|.584|101
lol more consistent

"He does have a point"

I don't get credit for the caveat in the 1st half of the sentence?

I don't know what's going on here. I clearly said I thought he was wrong, even if his consistency point was right, which I said I had not checked to verify. It feels like you are trying to talk your way around having been called out for incorrectly addressing the bad point he made. Whatever.

It's not any vendetta against you. I still haven't gotten answers to my questions about JD Drew with respect to Mike Lowell or Manny Ramirez.

I guess I can expect to never get my questions answered even though I answer concerns til I'm blue in the face.

Hey chacha! Who bashed you? Some MFY fan? Faaaaack 'em!

I wouldn't want to face Pedroia, the boy can hit almost any thing these days----love him!

I should have been more clear, but I thought the Lowell/Drew streaks in June/July were already addressed.
