Scouting Report:

Rangers: Mendoza is 1-2 with a 7.50 ERA in four starts since the All-Star break, and he is 1-3 with an 8.46 ERA on the road. Left-handed hitters are batting .352 off him, while right-handed hitters are batting .294. Opponents are hitting .381 with runners in scoring position, including .414 with two outs. He lost to the Red Sox, 11-3, on April 18 in Boston, then ended up on the disabled list with a sore shoulder.

Red Sox: Lester's unbeaten streak was halted at 11 games in his last outing, though the lefty still turned in a decent performance (seven innings, four runs) against the White Sox. At Fenway Park this season, Lester is 6-1 with a 2.87 ERA in 12 starts. Left-handers are hitting just .233 against Lester. This will be the first time Lester has faced the Rangers since April 19, when he allowed 10 hits and three runs over 6 1/3 innings. In that one, he got a no-decision.

my thoughts: Lester is the first real starting pitcher to pitch for either side in this series. That being said, I expect a win

I predict the Red Sox win 10000000000 to the tenth power to 0, with each of the starting nine hitting 1,665,793,042,815 grand slams, Youk driving in eighty-five quadrillion runs and Lester pitching a perfect game, throwing 81 pitches, striking out 27, each on three pitches.

Not have a bruised tailbone?

Looked fine last night, while Coco choked Ellsbury got on and tied the game. Coco sucks with the bat proven fact. Lets just hope he catches the ball tonight unlike last night.

Guy married his teacher though when he was like 18. Other then that he's nothing to envy.

Well he was a very highly touted catching prospect that was traded for Teixeira last season, doesn't look like it's clicked for him yet.

I keep hearing Texas is trying to convert him to a first baseman cause he sucks as a catcher

2nd half stats for both these guys. Youk is having an incredible 2nd half thus far, very quietly while it shows just how BA inflated Lowell's 2nd half was last year.

IOW, Youks has gotten better in the 2nd half this season for the first time in his career - he's really very quietly having an MVP-type season.
