I can live with that.

Okay so 2009

Beckett

Matsuzaka

Lester

Buchholz/Byrd/Wakefield?

Zink/Colon?

Good bit of options come this offseason. Can't Wakefield go to the bullpen or is that a slap in the face?

I'd go:

Beckett

Lester

Matsuzaka

Wakefield

Buchholz

with Bowden/Colon type FA waiting in the wings.

So Byrd then I'm assuming is a rental for the rest of this year?

Zink to the bullpen or sent back down?

Byrd is a FA after this season.

Zink is probably sent back down, there's a reason he hasn't made the bigs until he was 28. He's good AAA insurance though, tonight is a good example of that.

Agreed.

But Byrd in the rotation I don't think would hurt. I'd try and atleast offer him something, depending on how well he performs this season for us.

Byrd could very well be the Colon type FA I was speaking of, although I don't think it can come at the expense of Buchholz's development.

Zink at 64 pitches.

Not bad through 4. Could get 6 or even 7.

Wouldn't a 7 IP, 2-3 ER performance be something to remember him by?

Also 44 strikes in 64 pitches = .667 strike rate

Not Bad At All.
