Charlie Zink makes his major league debut tonight as the Red Sox play the rangers. Hopefully Zink can get a hand from the offense and pick up a win. Your thoughts on the game??

My thoughts are you need to recognize the rules of making game threads before you do so.

Seriously, 2nd post and it's an in-game thread???? :dunno:

Thumper's due up.

Posted

Give him a break guys, he just joined and has no idea about this kind of stuff. I commend him for jumping right in.

Scott, around here if the sox win a game we usually want the person who started that game thread to start the next day's thread to keep the winning "mojo" alive. It may be dumb, but it's led to 2 world series win since the creation of Talksox. I say the wins are solely because of this mojo.

No need to call anyone a ****.

Don't mind Thumper. In fact, like bosox21, I'm surprised this mistake doesn't happen more often with people who recently join the board. Don't worry about it, just expect that if we lose tonight it's solely because you messed up the mojo. :) I kid.

Thumper, holy f*** dude, chill out. You did start a gamethread after a loss just yesterday, so maybe you're not so in touch with the "rules" of the game threads either.

It was getting close to game time, no one had made one... So... I did, anyone could have.

To be honest I don't even recall typing the word ****. Maybe I did, and I am sorry for that. s*** that was retarded of me. I wasn't really angry, or mad or anything.

But if we lose, his fault for costing us the mojo.

Posted
I think you did.

No no I know I did, I see it. I just don't even remember typing like a dick.

But that's niether here nor there. Tonight's game lies in his hands now. Win.

Posted
It lies in Charlie Zink's hands' date=' but whatever. Just win.[/quote']

No. Don't you know these game threads mean everything in the difference between a win and a loss?

2:30 before game time isn't that close.

Either way, that wasn't too cool.

Anyway, back to the thread - it makes sense to have Zink come up for this spot due to Wakefield's success against the Rangers recently. They seem to have trouble with the knuckleball, so why not replace Wake with another knuckler? It also doesn't hurt that he seems to be Pawtucket's best starter this year, but I have to think that the Rangers' troubles with the knuckleball seem to factor into the decision.

Alright, Chuck Z. The nerves are over now, you've had your first inning.

Two things stand out to me

1: this is definitely NOT Tim Wakefield. Too many 82 MPH pitches for that and he's mixing his pitches a lot more than Wake does

2: That slider... I wasn't expecting it. It's pretty good.
