Scott, around here if the sox win a game we usually want the person who started that game thread to start the next day's thread to keep the winning "mojo" alive. It may be dumb, but it's led to 2 world series win since the creation of Talksox. I say the wins are solely because of this mojo.

Anyway, back to the thread - it makes sense to have Zink come up for this spot due to Wakefield's success against the Rangers recently. They seem to have trouble with the knuckleball, so why not replace Wake with another knuckler? It also doesn't hurt that he seems to be Pawtucket's best starter this year, but I have to think that the Rangers' troubles with the knuckleball seem to factor into the decision.

Two things stand out to me

 

1: this is definitely NOT Tim Wakefield. Too many 82 MPH pitches for that and he's mixing his pitches a lot more than Wake does

 

2: That slider... I wasn't expecting it. It's pretty good.
