They are unfortunate, but also something that drew attention to something that magnifies his main weakness. His FB command is pretty bad from the wind up, but it's complete s*** from the stretch. I watched the first, and I have to say, I was pretty amused by everyone's optimism just because he went 1-2-3. Tek's glove was moving all over the place when it wasn't an offspeed pitch. I knew this inning was coming.

 

This is why he needs to move back down to where he can't hurt this club. He needs to spend however long it takes in Pawtucket, regardless of his stats, to consistently spot his FB, because it's not an overpowering pitch he can miss with. "

 

And Mike Lowell is just garbage at the plate right now. Don't point to the 3-run HR he hit today as a counterpoint, seriously. Watch the replay of that and tell me if he "got" that one. That was medium range fly-ball that was very high and rode its way just barely out of the park with a 14mph wind pushing it out. I'm curious to know just how far that really would have gone and will check hittrackeronline tomorrow to find out. I suspect it doesn't even get out of Fenway.
