The New York Mets, the worst team that money can buy. Looking at this makes what Tampa is doing even more impressive. They have ONE FIFTH of the Yankees payroll.

 

There was a great Forbes baseball business edition that came out before the start of this season that got into payroll and how teams are branding themselves. Newstands don't stock it aymore (i have it sitting on my desk at work actually), but I'm sure you could find the info online if you're interested. It was a great read.

Carpenter, Isrighausen, Mulder, various other guys making around 5 mil. It adds up fast.
