It'd be pretty funny if the Lakers just completely reverse dick punch Garnett n' Friends and completely control the ball for the last two minutes and score goal after goal to tie and win.

Why is Garnett out the game? I mean obviously it's because of the good lead they have, but for being one of the star players, shouldn't/wouldn't he want to finish it?

Well, congrats to the Celtics.

Now we can hear on all the sports channels from now until November about what Kobe and the Lakers should've, could've done and didn't do what was needed to win the NBA Finals.

Wee oh!

Good shitfor the Celtics though. They're a great franchise, probably the only Boston/New England team I dont hate. Gotta respect the coarse of that franchise's history; even though they're Boston I always follow them a little bit on the side. Glad they got it done....I hate the f***ing Lakers. Only bad thing about it is now I have to listen to you beanhead Boston fans boast about another championship

But again, congrats to this Celtics team. They did an amazing job this year. A championship well deserves.

...nowI just gotta hope my Knicks can possibly f***ing turn things around. Who knows, what out for the Knicks 08-09 baby! haha

the world is back on its appropriate axis

the lakers embarassed, the obrien firmly entrenched on causeway street and the city a little bit hung over today

. The Celtics are going to be a very' date=' very bad defensive team this season so 61 is certainly an anomaly.[/quote']

.

I think a refocused Detroit team takes it in 6 and without too much of a struggle.

So is Rasheed's shooting touch, though.

I'm not convinced the Celtics can win on the road. If they can't do it in Cleveland or Atlanta how do they do it in Detroit? They just don't have what it takes... hell, even Bill Simmons admits that KG isn't wired like a winner.

edit: By the way, nobody is beating the Lakers.

so what do you think about them celtics now?

can we now stop the " whos better kobe or jordan crap " it shouldn't of been an argument to begin with . jordan> kobe . its not even close

I agree, and I think this Finals crystalized it. Jordan does not allow a team to come back from 24 on his court. Ever.

I can't believe I'm saying this...but I was rooting for Boston. f*** Kobe.

Congrats all Celtics fans. Good to see one of the old franchises back on top.

I was there last night...and it was unbelievable. Unnnnnbelievable. I was a little worried in the first 8 minutes or so because Kobe was hitting everything. I was sitting with a great bunch of guys with the exception of one square two seats down from me. Otherwise, the whole building was aliiiiiiiiiiiiive. I got my picture taken with Tirico down on the court (we're both 'Cuse guys, I had to do it haha)

One question...I've never been IN Boston for a Championship with the exception of yesterday. Do they always close all the bars down? I can't imagine that they do. But we had a vision of spilling into one of the bars surrounding the Garden after the game and every single one was shut down when the game let out. It's a smart idea...but I found it hard to believe they'd take such drastic measures to cut down on incidents after the title. Man, BoPD must have paid out a zillion hours of overtime yesterday; you couldn't walk 3 feet without seeing a guy in his full-blown riot gear. I heard something like 55 arrests...that doesn't seem to be a lot at all to me. What happened to the days of good old cars getting flipped over and lit on fire? Ha.

PS - If you can catch an unedited version of the Garnett/Tafoya interview, you'll see him look at her and say "you look good, girl." It's priceless.

Congrats C's...glad I could be a part of it.

Couldn't be happier for KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen. I get goosebumps any time I've seen KG with the trophy.

As for Kobe, he wasn't great in this series but he also got no support. Walton disappeared, Vujacic was terrible, one game aside, Gasol was awful, one game aside, Odom was decent but not up to his usual level, Fisher wasn't great, Farmar was awful. Basically, the game plan seemed to be stop Kobe and make the other guys beat the Celtics and they couldn't do it. It's how they played him all season, make him a jump shooter.

As far as what I've said over the course of the season, the opinion that the Celtics were going to be a poor defensive team was a popular one. Pierce has never been a great defender, Ray Allen has been among the worst in the League, though KG's been a top defender his entire career. But anybody who says they expected Kenrick Perkins, Powe, and some of these other guys to step up and play as big a role as they did before this season is kidding themselves. But defense is about effort and when you have a guy like KG to motivate you, who knows...

And again, the Lakers were favored to win. They have the best player on the planet, came out of the deepest conference ever and had been playing a great deal better than Boston coming into the series... I think Celtics ties aside, most people on this forum would've picked them too.

I've been wrong before, I'll be wrong again... but I'm not a dickhead when I state my opinion and I don't bring make an effort to remind everyone when they've been wrong... so was it really necessary for you to do that, RSR? Pure class, *******. I have nothing invested into the NBA and aside from an opinion, nothing invested in this series. All I wanted was seven games, didn't care who won.

By the way, Posey and House were incredible pickups. And Doc Rivers outcoached Phil Jackson by a long shot... who'd have thunk it?

ok lets see ... you were roting against the celts all year long, you so did not want them to win .I think everybody else here would agree with me here . so I quoted a few quotes and asked you what do you think about them celtics now? and that makes me an ******* ? you dont invest in the nba? then shut your mouth and stop posting in this thread , otherwise dont be an idiot because the celts won and proved you wrong .
