They fell apart at the end. There was no excuse for getting trapped like they did. If Wally hits that wide-open three that landed in his hands' date=' the Cavs are down 3 with a minute left and we may be here wanting to string up Posey for passing backwards behind half-court. Dumb s*** almost f***ed them in the ass.[/quote']

This highlights my discussion with Kilo.....I think that they are just too tired in the 4th quarter (except for the Posey point). Posey aside, Doc needs to trust the bench.....go with what got you there Doc.

Doc gets the heat bc he controls the game plan' date=' and he controls who is in during any given situation......you are right, the players must execute, but [b']when you have nothing left in the tank I think it is asking too much[/b]. The Celts are were not losing those games early in the game.....it was the 4th quarter, and I think it was because the guys were given too many minutes.

DOC SAT THESE GUYS FOR THE LAST MONTH!! They shouldn't be "gassed".

The plan all season long was to cut the big threes minutes, but now I wonder if that only hurt them more.....because they are being asked to do more than they have all year, and do not seem to be conditioned to handle it.

How is this on Doc? When the KG trade went down everyone was concerned as to how they were going to limit the minutes of three over-30 players. THIS WAS THE GAMEPLAN GOING INTO THE SEASON.

Blame the players for not being in better game shape.

Garnett - 32.8 MPG regular season, 37.2 MPG playoffs

Pierce - 35.9 MPG regular season, 34.9 MPG playoffs

Allen - 35.9 MPG regular season, 37.9 MPG playoffs

You're telling me 4 minutes a game for these guys makes them "gassed"?

If Doc stuck with what got him there, this wouldnt be a question. They won 60+ games with the regular season rotation. They were the best road team in the NBA with their regular rotation. I understand that this is the playoffs and you want your best team on the floor at all times.....but the Celts beat these teams all year long giving the big three more than enough time to rest up.

THE REGULAR ROTATION HASN'T WORKED BECAUSE THE PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED LIKE GARBAGE.

POWE, DAVIS, CASSELL, AND ALLEN HAVE ALL PLAYED LIKE GARBAGE. Only KG, Pierce, and Rondo have shown flashes, and they are too inconsistent.

The NBA is a player's league. Doc was a s***** coach last year, but he's been good this year. Why do you think that is?

actually doc turned a team of high school kids into decent nba products

Jefferson is a 20/10 guy, delonte west has developed into a solid player, perkins and powe really came into their own this year as well.

what i consider a panic move goes back to the atlanta series in game 6 during crunch time where he pulled rondo in favor of cassell.

dont f*** with the guy who got you there.

to win on the road you need solid guard play, some snipers who can make an open 16 footer, defensive intensity and rebounding.

how they hold teams to under 80 at home yet give up 100 on the road is as much a mystery to me as the disappearance of jimmy hoffa.

Double edged sword, how can you blame them if they were not getting the minutes to begin with (and I know that was the plan, but thats my point).

If you were a wrestler, youd know that a match goes 6 minutes....2 minute periods, and everyone was gassed after every match....and they are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world. I am sure you played basketball, or hockey, or some sport that required cardiovascular movements....in the 4th quarter.....and youve already played the 32 whatever type minutes you are accustomed to.....then yes....4 minutes is a very long time.

While I agree, Cassel (dont have the numbers off the top of my head) has been awful on the road, but been ok at home.

I cant argues there, except for the fact that they really havent been given much of a chance either.

Good point, no argument there.

ray allen will be the difference this evening

if we can get 14 out of him within the offensive plan we're going to win tonight

if he continues his claude rains routine then we come back sunday

Just play D the way you do at home....come out with the same fire and intensity and they will win. Just play some D.

Perimeter shooting will open up the inside. Hit from the outside and the Celts will get easier buckets in the paint.

Agree with Crunch that Allen is a key. He's got to make the Cavs respect him.

The way I see Cassell right now - in games that are blow outs, he shows up, in games that are close, he hides under a rock and shits the bed.

Tonight is a huge game, I'd feel uncomfortable about a game 7 in Boston. We're either gonna win tonight or lose the series, IMO.

Why do you say this? The home team has won nearly every game during the playoffs, and the Celts have yet to lose one at home so what is your basis for this?

Anything can happen in a Game 7 and the Cavs have the best player in the series.

have the best player in the series.

he hasent shown it yet in this series ,32-103 for a s***** .311 FG percentage, averaging 22 points a game , if he keeps playing like that theres no way the cavs wins this series, his stats are still half decent but not what were use to seeing

The Celtics have the better team and a home court advantage. Even if "anything can happen in game 7" I'd still take the Celtics chances over the Cavs. Not to mention Lebron has not even had a true dominating performance in this series.

I know that the home team will get most of the calls (and that goes for the Celtics when they're home, too...because I know I have to say that), but the charge that was called on Pierce tonight while LeBron was sliding side to side was absolutely horrendous. It wasn't even a call that could have correctly been called the way it was. It was so obvious that his feet weren't set that at WORSE it should have been a non-call. The refs had swallowed their whistles the entire fourth quarter, and when they finally decide to f***ing make a call, they make the worst possible call at the worst possible time that they could have. Now, I'm not going to pin this loss on just that call, because the Celtics need to stop being pussies and drive to the basket more, but JESUS CHRIST. It gives me goosebumps and freakishly reminds me of Chuck Knoblauch's phantom tag on Jose Offerman.

All that being said, I'm not that mad because I set myself up for the loss. Win in Boston.

the call was BS BUT the reason they lost is they scored 69 points . 75 would of won the game for them

Well, if BBD gets ONE f***ing call when he's MAULED all night in the paint we might have a different story.

The NBA wanted to showcase LeBron in a Game 7. End of story.

Last night is a perfect example of why people don't take the NBA seriously. The Celtics, more than any other time this series and even in the postseason, attacked the rim and drove to the basket. And what did they have to show for it? Two less free throws than LeBron James.

It's a joke. I'm not saying these games are fixed because that is way too much of a leap of faith. But the NBA, out of any other major sport, has incredibly inept officiating.

It's a joke. It's not fixing games but it's damn close.

I don't know... I think it is, in a way, fixing games.

The NBA tends to manipulate games to go the way they want/need them to go -- it happens too many times to be coincidental. Last night may have just been bad officiating -- it's not just "home court officiating", it's having THE superstar on your team in Lebron James.

I'll always point to the Mavericks/Heat Finals whenever this discussion comes up. Mavericks are up big in the 4th quarter with a 2-0 lead in the series... the series is about 7 minutes away from being all but over, and suddenly the Heat get every call down the stretch and come back and win the game. I had no preference in who won or lost that series and I thought it was the worst officiating I've ever seen in any sport.

You say the NBA wants to see Lebron in a game 7, but I'd also say that if Boston losing in the first round wouldn't have ruined the entire postseason for the NBA (since Boston vs. the Western Conference winner might've been the only compelling Finals scenario), Boston would've played a game five at home against Atlanta without KG and might not even be here right now. :dunno:

Game 7 will hopefully have a couple good refs, i mean come on the freaking game last night was ridiculous the charge on pierce and what about all the travels last night. complete ********. Uh, no. I haven't noticed the refs getting fatter.

You think they would have lost Game 5 at home without KG? Did you watch Game 5?

biggest game in a really long time today

going to make or break (even though i think it is already broken beyond repair anyways) doc's coaching career and legacy with the celtics.

will he be the guy who makes the right adjustments in the biggest of games (probly not), or will he be the guy who couldnt coach a team with 3 superstars past the semis (most likely). if we win, it will be the home court bailing us out again.

doc will be wise to keep house backing up rondo instead of cassell. house played great, cassell has been a joke.

you bet your ass i'll be coming back from the game with no voice today

Celtics coming out firing right now. 16-6 in the 1st. It seems like the refs are letting more contact go without calling fouls. On a side note, why the hell does ABC not have an HD channel? The quality is extremely s*****.
