The Pats played like s*** until the final 5 minutes. They really didn't look that great. Brady looked like crap until the final 5 minutes too. He came through when it mattered, but he won't get away with it if we face the Colts again in January.

The refs weren't THAT bad either. We would have won by 10 if we didn't s*** a storm at the end of the first half. That TD by Addai was inexcusable.

To be fair to Brady, he had no time to throw at all in the first half. I put most of Brady's poor performace in the first three quarters on that fact. He didn't play great, but when you are on your back on most every play it is going to be hard to compile good stats.

That's a fair fact. But then you have to tip your cap to the Colts' d-line, because they played better than our o-line from our first offensive snap. Brady got sacked right away...it kind of set the tone.

I guess I'm more saying that the team collectively sucked until the final five minutes. They're lucky to come away with that win.

Then they have to make it so that it's not even questionable. Sure' date=' some of them might have been BS, but the whole league has a gripe against them and they need to keep their heads on a bit straighter to realize that any remotely questionable action might be called against them.[/quote']

I was pretty much talking about the pass interferance calls. The Pats couldnt do anything about what happened to them on those calls.

Oh. If you're talking about the Randy Moss offensive pass interference call, I completely agree. Oh, and the non-call on Clark when Rodney was going for the ball was missed too...he clearly tackled Rodney.

I think Hobbs had a bad call on him too?

Other than a few big runs by Addai, did the Colts really play that much better? I see what you are saying though I did think we were going to lose when it was 20-10. I guess its a good thing we have Joe Montana reincarnated.

There was like a 60 yard pass interferance against Wayne... I forgot who it was one but it lead to a field goal which could have been huge in such a close game.

Not to bust your balls' date=' but I think the only person who would have made a big difference on that list is Marvin.[/quote']

You're probably right, but I'd rather have Ugoh, Keiaho, and Hagler out there instead of their replacements. I'm not saying that's why we lost; you guys definitley deserved it, and I'm not remotely bitter. My only regret is that the AFC Championship game will more than likely be in Foxboro, which still scares the s*** out of me. But it would have been very interesting to see what would have happened with Marvin. Without him, you guys double Reggie, leaving our options as Anthony Gonzalez (who hurt his hand on the first series of the game) and Aaron Moorehead.

The referees heavily favored the Colts in this game. Some of the calls (Esp the 2nd long pass intereference call) looked terrible on replay and the announcers should have been harder on the refs than they were.

Man did that dome ever get quiet and the end of the game. Bilichick > Dungee.

Good game today, much closer than I thought it would be. I knew the refs were going to have a bad day on the challenge by BB....how can 2 refs, both on the line, less than 5 yards away miss that call? Most of the time the bad call with go both ways...ie i can live with the ticky tack calls as long as their going both ways.

-The first long PA call was touchy, he def put his hand up there but i don't think it affected the play

-The 2nd call on hobbs was garbage; he had position, never touched him, looked for the ball...bad call

-Rodney's non-PA call was garbage too, he was brought down with the WR arm around him...should have been an easy call

The rest of the penalty's were justified (from what i could see) but I wish the refs would start calling holding on the Indy line....but it's been going on for years without being called so it's nothing new.

The run by Addai at the end of the 1st half is just inexcusable...there is no way he should get past our safety's. Going into the 2nd half they showed a replay and it looked like there was a 'block in the back' on the pats that helped spring Addai, but i couldn't see who it was.

I think the pats D was falling back on their 'bend but don't' break' philosophy that they have used for years.....and it seemed to work except for the Addai TD at the end of the 1st half. Overall a good game; Indy's got a great D, especially in the dome where their speed makes a difference. I think a Morris/Dillion type runner would have done well today (or anytime against the colts) where they can just pound it into the colts D over and over. Good game, and I am sure we will see this rematch again...only this time hopefully in foxboro!

CROWD NOISE SKIPS AT COLTS GAME?

It's a subject that will be addressed more fully in some Internet hack's Ten-Pack of Week Nine observations for SportingNews.com.

For now, we'll mention only that there are renewed question as to whether the Colts are pumping fake crowd noise into their home games.

Just goes to show you that the refs cant stop greatness.

Wow. I'm speechless.

Phew what a comeback. 2 weeks till their next game will leave them with a lot of work to do

Nice flip flop job from earlier in the thread.

75 of the penalty yards were completely undeserved. There is no denying that whatsoever.

OMGZ A CALL WENT AGAINST TEH PATZ

To be fair, the penalties were 146-pats and 25-colts. (a franchise high for the pats) Most of the penalties were justified against the pats...but they certainly didn't call it both ways, at least not in the first half (it did seem better in the 2nd half) This crew is pretty new with the head guy in his first year in charge...so it's easy to see how it happened

Eh the Moss call was bogus as well

Hahaha. My God.

Oh wait, I meant to say I'm glad we have a quarterback better than Montana. By the way Kilo if you think the refs were not horrible yesterday than you are being stupid. On another note, I would just like to say that your anti-patriots bias is probably just as strong as our patriots bias.

Did CBS just get caught pumping in crowd noise to the broadcast? I think I just heard a digital stutter in the crowd noise. f***ing hilarious.

I thought I heard that. Although, I attributed it to CBS.

Sorry I didn't see your original post...once the game started I was parked in front of the TV. I thought it was just CBS at first, but people are saying that they also heard it on the WBCN (gil and geno) broadcast so that would negate that. The funny part is that when it happens the announcers are not affected by it, and then when it stops you hear the crowd but much quieter. The steelers complained that the colts were doing this a couple years ago so it wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

In regard to the refs, I can't wait for the weekly segment on NFL network with Mike Pereira where he explains the questionable calls of the past week...that should be entertaining. Anyone know when it's on? I wonder if the pats will get another apology letter from the NFL like they did after the AFCC last year.

The pass interference call against Moss was garbage, I'll give you that. There was some s***** officiating yesterday.

but to listen to Pats fans talk about it you'd think there was some kind of conspiracy against them. But it's a good thing the refs figured out they can't stop greatness, right?

Exhibit A as to why I hate the Patriots and their fans. Thanks homie.

There was def some terrible officiating yesterday, but i don't attribute it ot some conspiracy theory. I think it had more to do with the fact that they were in Indy with a new crew doing the game. There is usually going to be crap calls in a game, but usually they balance on both teams...yesterday the pats just got it all.

Posted
I don't think there was any direct conspiracy, but I'd bet money they were prepped before the game and the topics of the prep were the bad calls we saw. Polian has griped for years about PI, and Moss has a bit of a rep as someone who creates space for himself. I think it's perfectly reasonable to think this new crew was told to keep an eye on these things as part of their preparatory brief. And that prep planted a seed that became a quick trigger finger on the flag.
Posted

I highly doubt this, particularly since the NFL had to apologize for the pass interference call on Ellis Hobbs that they incorrectly made in the AFC championship- a call that could have cost the patriots the game.

I smell vegas money.

I don't think it was a conspiracy against us, I just think it was incredibly s***** officating.
