you should see some of the "trade offers" on the yankee sites for Cabrera. Frickin hilarious.

"So, we can trade Marquez and Karstens for Cabrera straight up!"

Ummm, not gonna happen.

Either way, Cabrera scares me. He has the work ethic of a Hilton, the body of a mule, and the head of an idiot. The only reason why people want him is because he hits like Aaron. He is being billed as a 3b, but we all know his future, more likely recent future, is tied to the right side of the diamond or at DH. And with his body continuing to widen as he ages, he is a good bet to have a lot of injuries earlier than most. Plus, now that the Marlins have both the sox and yankees bidding as well as a host of other teams more willing to deal than pay ARods ridiculous requests, the bidding will be crazy. I'd just as soon sit this one out and go from here with what we have than rape our farm and our current MLB rotation for a player who doesnt seem to want it.

I've seen all the bad stuff written about Cabrera, and if the Marlins believe it they might be wise to move Cabrera now for the best package they can get. His value right now is extremely high:

His weight hasn't hurt his production (yet). He's a bad defensive outfielder and destined to move to first (hurt in value). If they can try to strike before A-Rod/Lowell sign they can try to leverage all the teams looking for a third baseman. If they wait until after both Lowell and A-Rod sign they can pounce on the losers of that sweepstakes.

The Marlins waited too long to deal Willis, for their sake it may behoove them to move sooner rather than later on Cabrera.

Personally I think he'd cost too much in talent for the Sox to get, but there are more teams in need of a potent right handed bat than there are potent right handed bats out there...

Just my $0.02

I said Coco and 2 prospects for Lincecum not MC.

So if your going to try and castrate my posts, process the info you have just read and let it sit and soak up for a second. I mean I wouldn't want you to be one of those guys that scans a post in 2 seconds, think you know what its about then bash it, then pretty much look like a tool for getting the whole purpose of the post wrong... But I didn't know that this person was a little off on the facts(thanks Jacko).

The MC post all I was saying is what could we offer to get MC without having to give up Buccholz and Ellsbury. I know its far fetched, I'm not one of those fans that thinks crazy lop sided trades will ever happen. I more or less state them to promote trade talk between all the posters.

In order to get MC, you may need both Buchholz and Ellsbury. In order for us to get him, we'd have to offer Joba and or Hughes/Kennedy. Not f***ing worth it IMO.

But if the Marlins demands stick to that steep of a price wouldn't most teams pass? And if they do, would the price come down?

someone will pay it. My guess is one of the LA teams gets Arod, the other Cabrera.

This senario makes the most sense, but we've already established that Major League GMs don't always do what makes sense.

The Dodgers and Angels both have deep farm systems and a desperate need for a big time bat. Both teams should be willing/able to open their wallets (for A-Rod now or Cabrera later) so money isn't an issue.

It'd be cool to see what Cabrera can do outside of Miami, too.
