^ Yeah, that pretty much explains it.

I'm a Chicago Sox fan, but I absolutely love baseball and the Red Sox have definitely earned my respect over the last few weeks.

I just moved here a few months ago for grad school (originally from Chicago) and I'm still getting used to the city... any tips on how to navigate these ridiculous streets?!

Anyway, I'd love to see the BoSox win the WS. Since my team isn't in it (aka, they suck), I figured I'd go ahead and root for the next best option. ;)

Welcome to the board! I'm pretty close to Brighton. I hope to go to BC next year (I'm a senior in high school), so I'd be right there. Haha, no real advice, all I can tell you is that you'll get better at the city's orientation as you get lost more and more. That's how I learned. Oh, and don't get too aggrivated when driving...we already have enough bad drivers to worry about.

If I may (don't feel obligated, obviously), where are you attending grad school?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm right by BC @ Cleveland Circle. This neighborhood is great, there's a ton of stuff to do and we've got BC students all over the place. And I'm going to Simmons College for a Master of Social Work.

Cleveland Circle is nice. Just don't go around the back of the Circle Cinema when it gets late ... bad stuff haha.

Go to Eagle's Deli as soon as you can. Their burgers are awesome. They showed one of those mammoth burgers yesterday night during the game. It's my favorite place to pig out. Roggie's on Chestnut Ave is also a great place to pig out/watch sports with friends. Check that out too. Have you experienced any of those places?

Oh, Eagles is fantastic! I can't say I've ever really had more than a 1/2 pound burger there though... they have excellent food overall though. And I saw that ridiculous burger on TV last night, YIKES. Can you say heart attack?

Roggies seems like a cool place too, I've never been there though. Most of my drinking/sports watching tends to happen in the city area. I'll definitely check it out though!

What are you planning on going to school for at BC?

No idea yet. I have two cousins that go there now, one that graduated last year. One of my cousins just wants to be a teacher, so he's in education. The cousin that graduated played hockey and is in Minnesota right now training to become an NHL ref. The other cousin (this one is the brother of the cousin that graduated) plays hockey there now too - he's an assistant captain... I don't know what he wants to do, lol. I'll go in undeclared, but my interests lie in the social sciences (psychology, sociology to be specific) and government type stuff. History too. BC has a core program so hopefully that will make my career path choice a bit easier, lol.

I also want to go to Georgetown University. I'm applying early action to both schools. UVa is at the top of my list as well, but they dropped their early application process.

If you enjoy psychology and history/govt type stuff... I'd really suggest social work ;) BC has a great program and social work really involves counseling/psychology AND government work/social policy.

UVA is an excellent school, I actually went to undergrad in Virginia, at Old Dominion Univeristy.

Anyway, good luck!

Don't take the C line in, it takes forever. Better to walk over to Reservoir and take the D in if you want to go downtown.
