Prepare for the worst folks. I think there are members of our beloved Sox team who have dabbled in the performance enhancing stew.

 

That said, releasing a bunch of big-name players is more likely to sweep the whole issue under the rug than to make any long-term impact.

Honestly, my stomach drops every time I think about this so-called "list" that is coming out.

 

There are so many players who have used I'm at the point where I'm ready to not just write the user off as a creep and cheater. The problem is so pervasive at this point and we've all seen guys who have obviously used performance-enhancing drugs beat our teams. Jason Giambi, for instance. If they're not going to deal with him then they aren't (or shouldn't) deal with anyone. He has had a HUGE impact on the game in terms of run production and leading teams to the playoffs over the past few years. The whole thing is tainted so I'm not particularly interested in having more people thrown under the bus for the sake of reporting on findings. Either get a useful test for it, or deal with it privately (at first at least).

 

My understanding was that it isn't until a 2nd offense that the name is released by MLB... I think I heard that somewhere. Is it because it is a congressional investigation that the names can be released?

I am glad they are naming names. Giambi was one guy who actually stood up and admitted to what he did and he is getting creamed for it. While I dont agree with what he did, he should be commended and vindicated when the list of the cowards comes out. And I could care less about Giambi in terms of my team is concerned. The guy did the right thing in the courtroom and he got skewered. That sends an even worse message to the kids.

george mitchell brought the IRA and thr Protestant bandits togethether under the watch of tony blair and billy the zipper and for the last 11 years the Northorn counties are at relative peace and a lot of prosperity...those who know about the irish troubles know this is a 400 year old battle thats finally at the round table rather than the morgue

I'm wondering what kind of evidence there will be in the report to support the naming of names. If it's just based on the disclosure of witnesses, that would be very unreliable, and I think it would be unfair to tarnish reputations unless they have some solid evidence.

i suspect hes got some iron in the fire if hes dropping names and i hope they have the sense to wait till the season is over to unleash the wrath
