PS all the people who wanted Buchholz to pitch the 9th are f***ing retarded.

Well we agree on one thing. I could see him pitching say the 7th and 8th tommorow night if Schilling can make it through six innings. Why waste his limited appearances in a game that is in the books?

I disagree. Jacoby just makes things happen' date=' Drew is a singles hitter right now and he doesn't bring the speed element than Ellsbury does. I don't maybe you are right, but how can you justify not letting him play when he has been so damn productive all season long, at every level he has played at?[/quote']

Have you seen Jacoby's AAA numbers?

I love the guy, don't get me wrong, I just think it's HIGHLY unlikely he replaces Drew in right.

He gives Tito more flexibility off the bench, anyway. McCarver mentioned that if Hinske got on in the 6th today he would have been pinch run for by Ellsbury, but that was moot once Youk got injured.

Guaranteed Ellsbury makes the postseason roster, I just don't think he starts in RF.

I love Jacoby, and I think the Sox would be retarded not to put him on the postseason roster. At the very least, he provides a speedy sparkplug/defensive boost late in games. When's Manny due back?

I have to admit I was EXTREMELY negative yesterday but Beckett stepped it up bigtime. He surpassed my expectations by far. Last night sucked big time but it was nice to see both Pettite and Wang get outdueled by the Red Sox starters.

Isn't it amazing the difference a day (and more importantly, a win) makes? We need to go out there and win tomorrow. Schilling vs Clemens, should be entertaining at least.

Today was the best sporting event I've ever attended, I felt the monkey jumping off of the back of every single person in the park.

I'm not exactly the Debbie Downer type that I've seen a lot of here on the boards -- and I'm not the first to start with the chicken little ********, and I'd like to think I'm one of the first to tell those that do to shut the f*** up about it -- but did anyone else feel like they got punched in the gut when you saw Coco stop at the wall and look up as Jeter's HR went into the batters eye? I'd like to think I remain pretty positive when it comes to the Sox, aside from the occasional "this team sucks" comment before I remember how good we've been, but for whatever reason that early deficit just made me go "Here we go again..."

Great, great, great win. Hard to say exactly how huge this win was after that game the other night and the sweep the last time we played the Yankees but this was a big one... mentally, and in the standings. Sounds like Beckett was flat dominant.

Don't pull a hammy jumping back on the bandwagon.

Hey ******* I've been in that boat for a month now. ;)

lol, I know you have been. I don't think you were in that thread after the game ended (or while I was there at least), but I sure wish you were. I would have had someone else to help me tell everyone to chill the hell out.
