Greg Oden , the Portland Trail Blazers' No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, will miss the 2007-2008 season after knee surgery on Thursday, two league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Oden, the 7-footer out of Ohio State, underwent exploratory surgery on his right knee on Thursday in Vancouver. The extent of the damage was not immediately clear, but Oden, one of the most celebrated young players in years, will be lost for the season.

The Blazers are expected to make an announcement shortly.

apparantely he dosent know how his knee got banged up

"He cannot remember injuring his knee at all," said Oden's agent, Mike Conley Sr. "I guess he just felt some discomfort. Greg can't remember when he hurt it."

Portland's cursed. Big blow to the city' date=' the team, and the NBA.[/quote']

Portland doesn't really seem to give a s*** about the Trailblazers much at all. I haven't met anyone hear who follows them, and I've rarely seen someone wearing any memorabilia/clothing.

Portland's cursed.

of what ive been reading its their own fault , apparantely they were concern about his knee's prior to picking him up in the draft, and the fact that he has one leg longer than the other. ( will lead to alot of health problems ) they should of went with Durant

As far as I know about Portland, when the team's been relevant , their fans are up their with any in the League. This franchise just hasn't given them much, on or off the court, to justify being a die-hard Blazers fan, I'm sure.

Absolutely. There'd been questions regarding his future health before the draft and before this incident. I'd have gone with Durant for that reason alone. People can call the Blazers lucky but the Super Sonics were the luckier team in landing that #2 pick since they got Durant without the pressure of what they may have passed up on.
