manny has been there every day and although the power #s are down he will still finish with 30 100 300 or better

jd drew will struggle to hit 10hrs and we'd be thrilled if he broke .270

the yanks were playing incredible baseball up till the baltimore series and we still have a lead over them

we are on the back stretch of playing the iron of our schedule and ny is walking into the fire of detroit and anaheim down the immediate road

 

i like our chances and i tend to call spades spades even if it isnt popular thinking.

 

we will win the division this year because for once in my life we have the better pitching and we are healthy going into the stretch run.

I don't think we are seeing .300/30/100 from Manny this year. Not the way he's looked this year. I think we will be lucky for .290/25/90, which isn't bad. But we are also going to see 25+ GIDP, and I think it's safe to say we were expecting 35+ HRs, 115+ RBIs, and an OPS near 1.000. For Drew I was expecting somewhere around 15-20 HRs, 90 or so RBIs, and an OPS around .900. When you make it relative to "expectations", the under-performance is looking like it will be something like this:

 

Manny - 10 HRs and .120 OPS

Drew - 8-10 HRs and .150 OPS

 

To me, it's a close call who has been more disappointing when you consider what you thought you were getting. If we are talking just raw numbers, then sure, Drew will be more disappointing if we make the expectation equal, but did anyone "expect" Drew to come close to Manny numbers?

ortiz has the manny luxury while manny had jd drew for a while and now i have no clue who is hitting 5th day to day...

manny has had nobody behind him for years now and still has put up those guady #s

drew,as the huge ticket free agent,was supposed to step into the 5th hole and be the man

he hasnt remotely met the challenge

i can see manny hitting a dozen hrs over the next 6 weeks,he plays the best when it matters....

 

nobody expects drew to be a power guy like manny but hes been nothing short of a f***ing disaster here.

i dont mind giving the guy some slack but i didnt think hed be outhit by crisp and lugo either
