Someone's irritated that the Yanks have been sore because of Red Sox pitchers. :D

RBI right there Ortiz. Do it please.

I got distracted and didnt finish my post before I posted it. I meant to say Pedroia needs to shut it and let Beckett retaliate. Pedroia couldnt do anything while still being at the plate. Unless he wanted to chrage and get killed.

Stupid. Yeah, let's go for the risky play at the plate instead of having Manny up with two on.

Pedroia needs to shut it.

He needs to shut it if he's arguing balls and strikes, not if he's complaining that he's being thrown at.

Coco f***ing slowed up...and again, Manny had a brain fart ... wasn't at home plate telling Coco what to do (stand/slide). Manny's really starting to irritate me during this series. Whatever.

I just want to score a f***ing run.

This I could agree with, but I don't think Beckett needs to throw at anybody the way he's throwing. He's got great stuff this year (even though he's losing 0-1).

you know, if this team is gonna go anywhere in the playoffs, they're gonna have to learn how to hit playoff-caliber pitching

Carbomb's got some good stuff, but he's got the Dice-K luck from last night kickin'. Several hard hit balls have gone right to people. I don't know how he hasn't walked more. His delivery is all over the place. I don't see how he can get a consistent release point from it.

you know' date=' if this team is gonna go anywhere in the playoffs, they're gonna have to learn how to hit playoff-caliber pitching[/quote']

I think the thing about "playoff caliber" pitching is that it wins. Few (if any) teams hit playoff caliber pitching. Hence it being the caliber of that needed to be the team that wins it all.

Also, I don't have the stats to back it up, but I kind of feel that the bigger the name of the pitcher they are facing the better the sox will do. Fausto is a very good pitcher, and he's pitching kind of like King Felix did earlier this season.

Who else has pitched "playoff caliber" against them this year? Which potential playoff pitchers? CC was very good last night, and they won. Just from watching the past few games, IN Cleveland, the Guardians have been even more futile than the Sox have been. Wouldn't you conclude that THEY need to learn to hit playoff caliber pitching?

they arent a playoff team IMO. Cleveland is gonna fade.

I do. He is 'on' tonight, and has been pitching really well the past two months or so. He has his release point and his cruising tonight. Felix was on in that game earlier this year, and he has been off numerous times since. Watching the Mariners and Sox in Matsuzaka's home debut, one would be hard pressed to see any flaws in Felix. It comes and goes. Goes a lot more with mediocre pitchers.

That's YO. Look around the AL. Tell me which teams one can legitimately call "playoff caliber". Hmmm, the Angels, Tigers, Red Sox, Yankees and... Guardians. It's still an exclusive group, but as long as the Yankees are looking up at them I wouldn't be ripping on the Guardians. That's just IMO.

I understand that playoff-caliber pitching is designed to be effective but they have to be able to do better than 1 run in 16 innings cause that isn't gonna get it done

You don't walk 34 in 122+ IP by being "on" every once in a while.

I think this is the stupidest team in baseball. There's a baserunning gaffe just about every game. Two tonight.
