So, I've been thinkin about it for a while

what if we could ship lowell to la of anaheim or someone else who really wants him and is willing to give up a couple good prospects for him

we then ship those prospects and a couple of our own for mark teixeira

the problem is we wont settle on a rental

and we all know boras, teixeira will test the market no matter who he goes to

i still would love to get him

Or we could just do it ourselves. We have the pieces.

well then we would hafta give up one of our top two pitching prospects

and we'd still hafta get rid of lowell in another deal

theres no way texas wants lowell

but he could be an immensely hot commodity for another team

I don't get why a team wouldn't want Lowell. I'm sure nobody is looking at him long-term, but there's some value there. He's already publically stated that he won't sign a one-year deal after this season, so an offer of arbitration doesn't carry much risk that he will accept it. He'll be a type-A more than likely after the last two years, so he's a half year rental that will get the team that acquires him a 1 (or 2) and 1s.

Both Lowell and Youkilis have value. Whichever one TX wants, send him and get Teixeira.

To tell you the truth, I don't see why you guys would go after Texiera. Neither first nor third is a problem for you. From an objective point of view, relief, outfield, and and shortstop is your problem. Your strength is RF, 1B, 3B, C, 2B, and SP. I can't see you guys moving players to upgrade your strengths. Just doesn't make sense.

That would be like the Yankees looking to upgrade 3B, SS, C, 2B, or LF. Just doesn't make sense.

Dumb question. Also, it would take more than Cano to get Utley. I would rather use the prospects my team would have to upgrade a hole. If I had to trade say, Chamberlain and Cano for Utley [i don't follow the minors that much, so I don't even know if that is a good trade for either team], I would rather use Chamberlain, or Hughes, etc., to acquire Teixeira, or for a solid starting pitcher.

All teams farm systems are limited. Each team has it's limit. It just doesn't make sense to go after one of your strengths, that's the point I was trying to make.

i graduated from boston university about a yr ago

Congrats.

That's a good school. If I lived in Massachusetts, I would have looked at it. 30,000 total students is a bit too high for my taste, but good job.

That means approximately 15,000 women. What's wrong with that?
