I don't think 3 for 36 constitutes a turn around.

I don't either. I never said he was turning it around. I said he is starting to come around, as in, starting to show signs of life (he hasn't forgotten how to play baseball). But what's wrong with giving him a little credit? Your hatred of him has reached new levels. You can't even give the guy credit for doing something right.

I'm expecting some retaliation after that. The Rays are getting s*** on, so they might as well try to light a fire under their asses. Hopefully our batters will just walk away if that happens and take their base. That Tampa Bay dugout has a few people who would love to get into it (I'm looking at you, Delmon Young). Dukes got sent down right?

What kind of back woods school did you go to where counting the slump as part of the turnaround constitutes sound logic? Of course 3/36 doesn't look good. It includes what he is supposed to be recovering from, nimrod.

Schil, I don't like him. I never did, I probably never will. I won't root for a guy JUST because he's a Red Sox. If he is good, fine. If he is average AT BEST through his career and sucks ass here, well, f*** him. And again, I have never liked him. And also I can't stand the fact that the Sox are paying him $8 million a year. He isn't worth $1 million.

Very admirable and grown up for Beckett to just turn and walk back to the mound.

Haha, Beckett's the last person they want to get into it with. He'll hit everyone of them if he wants to. Gomes is just going to get his teammates into trouble when he mouths to Beckett.

ORS, I realize that, I was making a point. You can look it at however you like. I care more about the sample size. He is hitting under .200 this season. Sure, you could say he is 3 for his last 8, but which is more relevent?...

I personally think he's worth at least $1M...but that's me. I'm not crazy about him either, but I root for him because he's wearing "RED SOX" or "BOSTON" across the front of his jersey.

Why don't you like him anyway...?

Right now with his consistency? The latter.

Onto the fifth. Now everybody can calm down a bit, yes?

Well thats what I mean. I was expecting him to be the Beckett of last year, dropping his hat & glove and get in Gomes' face

I don't have anything against him personally, I just don't like him as a major league player. He has no plus tools other than speed. I like Defense at SS, or at least some pop if the guy is just average at D. Lugo sucks defensively and offensively. I don't like average guys unless they really contribute to the team or are characters/etc. Millar wasn't a great player, but he was a character and I liked him because of that. Granted, I also realized Millar's time was up and he couldn't cut it in Boston, but I liked the guy.

The bigger picture is, of course. However, the bigger picture includes what he's done in the past too. Or are you one of those types that says he's hitting .200 right now so that's what to expect the rest of the year? I think I know the answer, and I'm not surprised.

Does anyone get the impression TW101 and Thumper are the same person? It gets me through my days because I'd be very worried if I knew there were TWO people that f***ing stupid roaming the Earth.

So you aren't rooting for him because, in your opinion, he's an average player? That doesn't seem like a very good reason.

No, he's below average SS. As I said, I'm fine with a SS that can't hit, so long as they are exceptional defensively. Lugo SUCKS defensively. He's horrible. And offensively, well, he's pretty bad. I loved Gonzalez because he was a gold glove calibre SS. You have to be able to field or hit, or at least be average at both. Lugo is below average at both. And your right, I don't like average players. The only average players that should be on a big market team are rookies and cheap fill-ins. Lugo is neither.

That's the second time Camp has nearly hit a batter. I think he's trying to retaliate but he just sucks so bad.

...or he just sucks so much that it looks like he's trying to retaliate. That said, he struck out the first two batters. I think he knows what he's doing for the time being.

Coco's on absolute fire. He's gotten his average up to .267

Hey man what's your batting average this year?
