Tavarez has done great up until this point, but this is about where he usually starts to fall apart. He'll be very valuable in the middle relief role if we land a starter.

That inning, although he got out of it clean, is why I have absolutely no faith in continued success, either in the rotation or BP for JT. When you show off the pitching savy of walking a guy like Vazquez on 4 pitches with 2 out, so you can face Young (their best contact hitter who predictably gets a hit) and then Sosa (their big power threat), then I want nothing to do with you. He just doesn't "get it".

It is definitely a concern. Just over these last 3 games, he has stranded 10 runners

Considering the problem we are having scoring runs, why would Tito shorten his lineup by playing Ellsbury instead of WMP, especially with Lowell getting the day off? A WMP bomb could wake things up.

Probably because Jacoby needs to get the time and he has scored a ton of runs in his minor league career. :dunno:

 

Makes sense to me.
