Only reason Clemens is still playing is because of his name and the fact he eats a live baby before every start.

But when they're all gone, the cycle will start all over again. 10 years from now we'll be talking about Josh Beckett and C.C. Sabathia and how much they've gone down but are still pitching at 40+. It's nothing new.

I'll disregard the first comment by saying you're lucky to have Adam123 here to make you look better. Because you're an idiot.

I think you're the only one who'll be talking about Josh Beckett and C.C. Sabathia being 40+ years old in ten years considering that in ten years they'll be 37 and 36 years old respectively.

id be worried if baseball didn't have such an array of young stars just starting to really emerge right now. the sox rotation is a perfect example of that. yea there are guys like Schilling and Wakefield but in 5 years, its gonna be Beckett, Matsuzaka, Lester and Buchholz anchoring it

WOW so I don't know their EXACT age! Execute me now please!

I was making a general statement.

And when in the Hell did I say Adam makes me look good?

You didn't. I am saying that Adam makes you look better.

edit: changed to "better"... Thumper will never look good.

The point is I make a general statement, which is obvious, and you get all Rambo over me.

He got all "Rambo" over you because you said Clemens eats a live baby before every start.

...seriously. WTF?

Anyway, we know about a lot of young and upcoming superstars, so I don't think it'll be a big deal when the older ones are gone. It will be weird that the baseball players we've grown up with will soon be leaving baseball though.

No, because I didn't know Beckett's and Sabathia's EXACT age to know in 10 years they still won't be 40, but close enough to it to make a general statement.

You know how people always estimate things like "Ten years from now..." or "In two years time..."

That's what I was doing.

Well...did you think Beckett was 30?

And seriously on the Clemens comment...the f***?

No, I know Beckett isn't 30. Again, I made a general estimate.

And the Clemens thing is in reference to the fact he's 44 and still pitching, with some heat actually, which we don't normally see, so one could jokingly say it isn't natural and that he must be eating babies. Yeah, f***ed up I know but it's the only thing I thought off. I thought about pulling the juice card but that would have sparked a flame war.

wasn't he topping out at 91 in his last start?

I'm watching Jeremy Guthrie vs. Andy Pettitte right now, and I am realizing that baseball will not be taking any skill hit. The names will change but the aura and luster of the games will be the same.
